Enquired to Mercure via email wether wifi was in the rooms and what their guest policy was.

Here is their reply for anybody who is interested. rooms look nice.

Our hotel provided Hi-Fi Internet everyroom, you should contact at front desk for voucher to connect the internet. The price start from 30 mins 100 baht / 1 hour 180 baht.

 

You can keep your airtime and log-in diffirent time. For extra person free of charge but please collect ID card at front desk , well dress and above 18 years old.

More or less same as the others.

Dusit got roughly the same but they have a max 500 Baht per day. The reason why I still live on 30 hrs Loxinfo

 

Will probably still take a few years until they realise that everybody got it, and it should be free, as in the "West".

I stayed at the Mercure in September. The wireless LAN was only working in the lobby at that time but there was no problem with "guests". Very nice hotel and great staff. Bit pricey now, I stayed in a suite which was 1400 per night on special offer. Biggest drawback is the location on soi 15. It's not far down soi 15 but there's nothing near it and you have to walk past a well dodgy area to get to it from 2nd road. A taxi is a must, make sure the driver knows where he's going!

Haven't the foggiest idea where Soi 15 would be. The location map seems to show the area around Soi 13.

I thought Soi 15 was off Walking Street. Am I wrong?

Fucking cheek, should be free like most others. Don't pay it otherwise the word will get round and all places will try to charge in future.

Its between 2nd Rd and Soi Buakaow. Off of 2nd Rd its the Soi between Pattayaland 1 and 2. When they complete the new shopping complex it will be much easier and closer to 2nd Rd as you should be able to cut through the complex.

Their map shows it differently, between Second Road and Beach Road and around the Soi Post office. Strange that they aren't sure where their hotel stands.

You are correct. Their website has the hotel in the wrong location.

 

I cancelled a room booking there a couple of weeks ago and have not had an acknowledgement. Did it by e-mail and not the website cancellation system.

 

Up to them.
