Hi there 3 of us will be arriving in pattaya on the 3rd of january and staying till the 15th of january.

We are looking at staying somewhere for roughly 500 to 800 baht a night.

Would we need to book our hotel in advance or would we be able to find an hotel by just walking in and asking if they have 3 rooms available.

Any info would be great. cheers.

I'll be in Los from Feb1-23. I want to spend a few days week in Pattaya towards the end of the time. Have the crowds dropped off by them to be able to play it by ear, or should I make more firm plans?

I have thrown an element of excitement to my trip as my reservation at Areca and Residence Garden EXPIRE on 01/10/06, but my plane does not leave until 01/14/06! I certainly hope I can fine a room at the last minute during high season! If not? well....so what!! :D :bj2 :banana

you can always get a room. But it may cost you alot more than you want to spend, or it could be a real dive, or it might be a 15 minute ride from where you want to be.

Or you could be moving from one hotel to the next like my 2 friends did this last month. Dynasty for 2 nights, then nana for 1 night, back to dynasty for 3 nights, nana for 2 nights, then worburi for 4 nights, back to dynasty for 3 nights. now isn't that a great way to spend 2 weeks in bkk?? Just becuase they didn't book anything but the fisrt 2 days in advance. If they had been willing to move away from nana plaza they probably could have been in a nice place for 1200 baht the entire time. But they wanted low cost and close to nana.

If you want to reduce the hassle of your vacation book in advance.

I emailed a lot of hotels (20+) when I had a last-minute chance to come over for Xmas. Not just the obvious ones; places I've stayed before, out of the way places, places I only found by searching the hotels section, places out of town. Found one room for 1600b per night, normal season rate 1150b. Don't like your chances in the budget range.

You could maybe try Dao Hotel, other side of Sukhumvit.
