I really liked the Estiny Residence Hotel on Soi 10.

Hi Bill,

Haven't stayed in Eastiny but Sawadee Sea View is only hotel I can think of on Soi 10. Have to try Eastiny's some time as get good reviews on this board.

Toppie asked for information concerning the Lido Beach Hotel not the Eastiny.

Sorry Toppie I have no information about it what so ever.

Hi Toppie!

I stayed at the Lido Beach Hotel in May for about ten days. I stayed in the superior room, not the regular one, but it was very nice IMO. VERY conveniently located to Walking Street (100 meters perhaps?) , surprisingly quiet since it is located down a small alley between McDonald's and a coffee place, and the rooms were kept very clean. A nice seating area with newer chairs in the superior room. Lock box downstairs, not a safe, and I never had any guest problems because I always used the side entrance with the elevator. My room was within a few steps of the elevator. Tip the security guard 20 baht and ask him about the side entrance. The breakfast was included but I seldom made it dowstairs to partake. There were a few ants in the dining room, but nothing to get upset about. Management wasn't very friendly or willing to discount, but they were competent.

I've posted a review in the hotel review section under Vikingfan ( a name from another life) and I will see if I have any other pics suitable for this open section of the forum in a couple hours when I get home.

I'd stay there again if I wanted to be on Beach Rd and close to Walking Street.

Two weeks ago a friend took a "tour" of the hotel. He said it has recently been remodeled, he was very impressed, and hoped to be able to get a reservation there for his next trip. Someone, in recent months did a review of the hotel and included a few pictures. You might do a search.

It is suppose to be VERY girlfriend friendly.

One caveat, picking a hotel seems to be a very personal, i.e., subjective selection process so keeping that in mind, the friend mentioned above, loves the Nana Hotel in BKK. I think the place, The Nana, is a pit and they couldn't pay me to stay there.

Each to his own.
