Snorkeling on Ko Samet and Ko Lahrn

I read the previous thread, but it seemed to focus more on diving than snorkeling. Does anyone know if there is any nice areas to snorkel around these islands (or anywhere else)?

 

I'm going with my family and wondering whether to bother packing snorkel and masks.

I snorkled on Koh Samet. I went out on a boat trip around the coast at about 11.00, it starts off with a bit of fishing with handlines, it then moves onto a bay, where you can snorkel for an hour or more, when you return to the boat, the fish that was caught have been cooked and you eat with fried rice, water and beer provided also, then it's back to the harbour again, before dark. It's very cheap and would be ideal for a family day out.
