My Mates missus flew out with thai last week and it was stopping in Denmark to refuel and would be 3 1/2 hours later than scheduled .

Surely they should be giving some sort of compensation as your paying more for the direct flight <grin to start with

Smiffy,

The fact that the flights completes the entire journey on the same aircraft and flight number makes them "direct"; that they make a stopover is irrelevant - unless, of course, you are the passenger. :D

The fuel situation is obviously outside the airlines control so the burden on them to provide any form of compensation is pretty negligible and as long as the flight departs UK pretty much to schedule your insurance company is unlikely to be interested since they only pay out for delayed departures, not delayed arrivals.

I'm flying Qantas at end of May, departing Heathrow at 22:15hrs.

Do you reckon it will be sorted out by then??

Buy an extra gallon when you top up your car, by May you should have enough to take along for them to use- might get an upgrade too. Not sure if unleaded is best, or deisel. :-) Nah I think someone said it is ony until this week.

Just a joke, welcome to the board.

As long as it doesn't spread to Manchester on Wednesday I don't really care :hairout

Hey Stan, you got a confirmed flight yet, mate?
