Welcome my friend. Your first ever post and happily spruiking your business I see.

We have had a bit of a history here of 'recommended' car drivers who sadly were unreliable for one reason or another.

Ok, so please give over a few details:

1200baht + tolls I presume?

Make model & year of car

Experience of driver(s)

Full commercial vehicle insurance? (to compensate your passengers in the event of injury, or loss of belongings)

All the best to you, Lemons

Toom has cropped up on another board too...

Apparantly the rate is inclusive of tolls.

He has a lot of experience himself.

You need to book at least a day in advance and he will do other destinations too.

It is a large Toyota (he has a photo). No one asked about insurance there

Unfortunately,I have no experience of hiring him,nor of anyone else who has.

IF it is as he states,it does not sound too unreasonable,if you're the sort that hires a car from arrivals anyway.

Thanks rolyshark. If its inclusive of tolls, it's the cheapest around!

I don,t want to be negative but beware of this kind of ad,s.

I would never hire a guy om my arrival i have never seen before or without recommandation.

If Toom would like some business her it should be a good idea to introduce himself with full name ,adress, traceable e-mailadress,carinfo, a picture or at least some trusty recommendations.

hey toom,

I realise english isn't your first language, and the west isn't your culture, but just a thought ...

Your customers ARE western. Getting those customers to jump through hoops, (expecting them to do the work themselves), to learn some basic information about your business, will not work with farangs.

Last time I looked there was no shortage of willing drivers inside and outside of the airport arrivals hall - all screaming for business. You are but one of those many competitors.

Put in the effort yourself, provide basic information here, and make your service worth booking.

All the best mate.

Competition is a good thing. And anyone new to a business is not going to have recommendations and has to build those up incrementally. Also, this guy toom does need to learn the process and provide more data, but that also is part of a new business -- learning the clientelle's wishes.

Paul and Jan, (aka board member LostinSpace) have been running their transport service for several months. I used it in November and it was first class in all sorts of ways. It is more than 1200 baht, but it was worth the extra for me from the perspective of security and hyper convenient logistics.

There are other testimonials on their behalf in the relevant thread:

http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.ph...pic=18044&st=75

Full disclosure: I have no financial interest in Paul and Jan's business. I was pleased with the service I got from them. I got no other reason for speaking up.

This is somewhat toom's thread so I will not hijack it. Competition is a good thing. It forces everyone to be better. toom, you may want to go thru your competitor's thread to see if there are things you can improve on your own service, and perhaps over your competitor's.

I've taken Owens advice and booked my ride with Jan and Paul when I come at the end of Feb. :banana

I read the comments about the service they provide and decided to go with them. :banana I value good service rather then a cheaper price. :clueless

Hi i have no connection with Mr Toom, but wish him well in the future in his business venture, i admire anyone that is willing to take the chance and go out on his own. I have cleaned his last post up a bit to make it more legible, especially for non native English speaking members

Hello everyone

My Name is Mr Toom. My writing skills in English isn't great, but I speak English fairly well. I was a driver for Thai Limousine for 5 years and started my own business 2 years ago. I drive a Toyota Corolla, this is a private car and has never been used as a Taxi Meter. I'm looking for customers who want an inexpensive but quality service. I have first class Insurance also.

I decided to start my own business because I didn't want to be paying commision to a Taxi company.

If anyone wants to avail of my service the fee is 1,200 Baht including tolls. I can be contacted on

Tel +6601-4827148 , +6603-0178066 Email : toom39@msn.com

Thanks very much

Its ok Mr Toom ; your english is a lot better than most everyones thai on this board. Soooooooo

Is your service 1200 baht per person or 1200 baht per trip. I guess probably 2 farangs is all a corolla would hold.

Good luck Mr Toom ???

Regards

Like to here some feedback on this service from some boardie ????

Sounds a very fair price including the tolls, i will give him a try in march. I have used the BKK dynasty bus amd would not recommend it. The journey took nearly 3 hours. In the end i jumped off on Beach road while they were doing a drop off for others and walked the remainder to my destination.

In the end i jumped off on Beach road while they were doing a drop off for others and walked the remainder to my destination.

unless things have changed drasticlly

the 7 or 8 times i took the van from Dynesty Inn BKK to Dynesity Inn Pattaya there were never any stops, not even piss/smoke breaks. never took more than 2hrs to get to Soi 13. Don't know if they would stop at the Dynesty Resort first if there were any passangers for there because never had any when i went.

since Dynesty raised rates from 990bt to 1200b and the noise on Soi 13 I haven't stayed at Dynesty so maybe diffrent now??

always liked there service in the past, hope it hasn't changed

cheers
