Hey all

I like a good dinner buffet especially with decent seafood. Any recommendations in Pattaya?

I did a search but couldn't find much. I'm interested in a high quality dinner buffet and not necessarily concerned about price. I've read about Apex and Diana Inn but I get the impression that these resturants have kind of basic fare at a good price.

The one hotel I remember being recommended was The Montien Hotel. I'll definitely hit them. Any others come to mind?

The Lobster Pot on Walking street quickly became my favorite. Yoiu get a "sea view" (actually gulf view) table with 2 waiters/ress attending to your every need. Lobster and Steak for B1500 includes all the trimmings. A little pricey by LOS standards but most excellent by every degree. Cooked exactlly tar-tar as requested, the steak was phenomenol. However, they serve their lobster (everywhere in Thaiand?) without drawn butter. Not good in my opinion. Had to ask for that and was given a queer response. lol. a cultural thing, i guess.

the Lobster Post is located on Walking street. close to Lucier's Disco (If I remeber correctly..and yes.. .I was there), it competes with a number of restaurants in the area. I recommend it. Just be careful when you order. If you try to "combine" plates, you will be served BOTH plates (and charged accordingly). lol. No tip is necessary, but after this great service you will feel compelled to do so.

I have eatten at the Lobster Pot and it is indeed very good. Costly by Thai standards but very cheap compared to the prices you pay for the same meal in the US. :banana

I'd be interested in a buffett place that has good seafood also. :clueless

The Montien is an absolutely awesome buffet if thats your bag, they have buffet nights on Weds, Fri and Saturday though Friday is probably the best for seafood as it is the Seafood and BBQ night, everything thats found in the sea you'll probably find there, you'll be pushed to find better.

A little pricey at 750 baht but if you have a healthy appetite its a bargain...watch out for the drinks prices though!

I have not sampled the Montien buffet before. My prefernce for buffets is the Dusit on Satruday evenings. In my opinion, hands down winner for an impressive date or to impress anyone. The roast piglet, grilled seafood, sushi, italian section, thai, chinese and my fave, the lamb chops are memorable!

Talking about seafood restaurants in Walking Street. This last two trips, I made it a point to sample all of them, at least once to try and compare their food. King's used to be a favorite till I tried and fell in love with the cook's at Vientiane restaurant. Vientiane is past Nang Nual on the right hand side. Try their flavors compared to your favorite seafood restaurant...Let me know what you think... :D

One other recommendation I have is the brunch at the Marriott hotel on Beach road. Marriott has an extensive fruit, salad, cold cuts, eggs to order, etc for breakfast or lunchtime. THe quality is of a 5 star hotel quality and the service is memorable!

On my last trip to Pattaya last year, while having dinner at the Lobster Pot, I noticed what looked like two restaurants out on the water.
