Check out www.skytoppattaya.com Cheap but clean guest house with in room safe, TV, AC and fridge. High speed internet café. Guest friendly and rooms are 450 and up. Great location on 2nd Road about two minutes away from soi 6. I've stayed there many times and will do so the next time, I'm in Pattaya.

V&M Terrace, soi buakhow across from Family Mart about 80 yards from Central Road.

Clean, well-located, nice open bar, pool table, small swimming pool.

400/night, 6700/month=235 a day.

i stayed flipper lodge at bottom of soi 8 in May of 2005. They had special where you pay 5 nights, get 2 or 3 free. AVerage price turned out to be 550 baht. That is a hell of a price for the quality. action street, seaview room, decent hotel, rooftop pool, in room massage for one hour oil 300 baht. I will do it again when I get there this year

There's a 200baht joint on the right side of soi Honey Inn between Bay Breeze and Sawasdee about 50 yards up from 2nd Road.

Several BGs stay there that I have seen.

Here's what I've discovered for getting the most room for your baht:

1. Go during low season (which you are)

2. Get the monthly rate

3. Go east, away from Beach Rd yet stay close to the baht bus routes

4. Stay at a recently opened place before they get a following.

Looks like the New Star Hotel didnt get good reviews despite the cheap cost. :chogdee2

Might have to reconsider staying here on my next trip over.

If anyone have a better option at these prices let me know. Thanks

About time I made a response - Anna and I own Anna Jet! I have tried to be honest about the rooms on the web site - but they aren't shite (I stay there).

Firstly lets respond to some of the comments:

1) The photos are of A10 - it is one of the rooms normally reserved for the girls - they sleep 3-4 to a room and they get a fridge, TV, en-suite etc - compared to their homes in Buri Nowhere it's luxury. These rooms don't have air-con or outside windows - they are cheaper but you have to be a real tight arse to pick one (unless you are lucky enough to be sharing it with the girls)

2) Security - All the air-con rooms now have in-room safes - we have also changed the locking system and put an automatic closer on the outside door.

3)Beds - we have bought new sprung mattresses for all the air-con rooms (actually we are still waiting for the last 2 to arrive).

That being said - they are still rooms over a busy bar - and I can't change that! It's a trade off.

-If you want to impress Bar Girls - don't stay at Anna Jet (they don't give a shit anyway - it just encourages them to up their expectations)

-If you want a quiet evening in, sipping cocoa and going to sleep at 10 - don't stay at Anna Jet (why are you in Pattaya anyway?) We turn our outside speakers off at 1am and since the landlord has the first floor it's his family who enjoy the late, late music (why not - we pay a fortune in rent and key money).

- If you want to do a quick short-time with the girl who shows you the room - stay at Anna Jet (you still have to pay bar however)

- If you like to Party Hard, take a girl upstairs for an hour and then come back to pick another before crawling to bed - stay at Anna Jet.

- If you never use the swimming pool, coffee-shop and shops selling Thai Silks and carved thingys and would prefer to keep your money for wine, women and song - stay at Anna Jet.

And if you choose not to stay with us - then that's fine - but I hope you'll join us in the bar - ask for me (Peter/Boss) and we'll share a few drinks together!
