Just got back this morning :beer after spending 4 weeks in Pattaya. I stayed at La Fontaine Apartments at the southern end of Walking Street. Didnt get the room I initially asked for but was impressed with what was given to me. (407) Large living area, seperate bedroom, kitchette.

After one week was offered the initial room I asked for and moved. This apartment was massive (401), large house sized kitchen, lounge room with full lounge suite, tv and dvd player. Bedroom was as big as I have ever seen in any hotel, complete with another tv. Apartment has three balconys all with sea views. two air conditioners, good hot water supply and well furnished.

Price was 16000 baht for a month, but does not include water or electricity. That can add up fairly quickly as I found out yesterday when received a utilities bill for 7700 baht. But as anyone knows who is there at the moment, airconditionig is a must due to the humidity and constant high temperatures. Am not sure what rates they charge for each unit of power.

Only downfalls I found were walking up and down 4 flights of stairs (no elevator) rooms were cleaned only twice weekly (is ok if you have a steady GF, but wouldnt suit mongers) but can be cleaned at an additional 200 baht a day.

Sorry didnt get any photos (forgot) but they do have a website, albeit outdated. I will definately stay there again, as I believe it represents good value for money as it worked out at only 846 baht a day (including utilities) location cant be beat and you actually feel like you are in a house as opposed to being cramped into a hotel room. They do have smaller studios which looked good for around 8000 baht a month. Good sized swimming pool and friendly staff.

Lived there 2 months once upon a time. Only positives to report other than a swimming accident which required stitching. At the same time, I'd like to put over the fine staff at Pattaya International Hospital on Soi 4 across from Big C.

200 baht a day room cleaning = 6k for 30 days of cleaning.

That amount is more than the monthly salary of a lot cleaning staff working at the various hotels around town. Smells like a suckers price to me. :chogdee2

No mate, price was 7700 baht for the month. Yes I thought it was excessive aswell, maybe that was the non-french price!! But did have two large aircon units running most of the time so I guess it does add up, was still happy with the place though.

I speak French fluently yet my elec. bill was high too (hehe). I think the 1 bedroom rooms are so large that 2 aircons running is a necessity.

I would still recommend the hotel because it's well run and clean. It's also right on WS if that's your thing. I felt pretty safe there. Moreso than Central Pattaya where I reside now.

I was dating Mimi for 3 weeks when I lived there (as seen in my avatar). I've been here almost 2 years straight and I've yet to see anyone more attractive than her in my opinion. Sweet memories...
