Hi.

Made booking for welcome inn on Soi 2 for Xmas 2003 but chose the Apex

instead, the welcome inn has been around for many years and is a GF paradise.

Have not stayed there but think they have about 20 or so rooms some small,

some big.

You need to see the place in the afternoons when it is swarming with girls

appears to be meeting place before they go to work.

It also has a cocktail lounge which is very busy during the afternoons and

evenings and the girls make you feel right at home to say the least.

If i had stayed at the welcome inn i would have been able to have told you

much more.

The Welkom Inn is a great place if you travel alone. There are always people in the hotel lobby for a chat and the staff is very friendly and will make you feel like home.

It is true that the rooms are nothing special but the surroundings are great.

Just give it a try.........................and if you don't like it, there are several other hotels just around the corner :chogdee2

So that's what the front enterance of the Welcome Inn looks like. I've only entered from the back and have stayed in about a half a dozen of their rooms. The best is the one where they recently remodeld the bathroom because Soi 7 fell on his ass and then took out the sink. :kissing

Probably I'm confused, but if I remember correctly the Welkom Inn across from Sabai Lodge is a real shit hole. The ONLY good thing about it is the short-time bar attached where attractive ladies can be found as early as 8 am and throughout the day. Breakfast for less than 100b is another plus for WI. But, the Sabaii Inn AND the Sabai Lodge is MUCH MUCH better and in the same location. The few extra Baht will be well worth it. The Welcome Inn DOES have in-room safe, but the overall condition of the hotel is shit. IMOP.

I stayed at Welcome Plaza hotel not too long ago and I got bitten by gang of bed bugs. Very nasty insects. I still have bite marks on my body. Check out bed bugs http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/bedbugs .

This hotel has big problems with bed bugs. You been warned.

Before things are getting mixed up: The Welcome Inn and Welcome Plaza are two different hotels!

The Welcome Plaza is on 2nd road (between Mike's shopping mall and RGP but at the other side of the street) and from what I have read, notorious for it's bug pests.

Personally, I would say that the Sabai Inn is better than the cheaper rooms at the Sabai Lodge, but not as nice as the more expensive rooms at the Sabai Lodge. If your budget is in the vicinity of 1000 Baht/nt, IMHO, the Sabai Inn is the nicer place, and you will not have any problem using the pools at the Sabai Lodge, which is less than a 100 meter walk away. If you don't mind spending 1400-1500 baht or more a night, then the nicer rooms at the Sabai Lodge will be a good choice. I've seen the rooms at both, and have stayed in the Sabai Lodge. I'll be staying at the Sabai Inn during my next visit.

BTW, I felt that the Hippo restaurant at the Welkom Inn was crap.
