Come on, give the guy a break.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with spending 1/12th of the cost of a taxi if the bus journey is pretty straightforward - the savings will equal two STs or an LT!

Not everyone has money to throw on taxis. Even if they do, it is wise to take the bus if it is an easy trip. Do you take baht buses in Pattaya, or do you hire taxis all the time? I can easily afford to hire taxis, but I take baht buses.

Besides, people from most cities in western countries are conditioned to look for buses rather than taxis, the cost of taxis and distance being so much.

It's not a question of giving the guy a break! I agree entirely with "Upena" on this.My reasons being as follows I presume this will be the guys first trip to Pattaya and therefore his 1st time at the new airport.

I have been in/out this place in the last 5 weeks, and while I found the entry/immigration and baggage retrieval to be quick and 1st class once clear of them "Bedlam" steps in.Imagine a newbie arriving with all his luggage standing there looking every inch bemused looking for a (VIP bus) c'mon after paying his fare/hotel etc why the fuck would he begrudge a taxi direct to his accomodation for between 800/1200 bht instead of pissing about on shuttle bus to the so called vip bus to Pattaya, then arriving at bus station with his luggage getting on a baht bus to his hotel,if you want to go through all this hassle to save maybe 7gbp then IMHO you are giving him very bad advice!

If only for safety/peace of mind get a taxi sit back, relax have a beer or two and arrive at your hotel 2 hours later. <huh :D :D

You can "smoke" in the taxis too!!!!

Think I gonna take the bus on the 26th of december as my flight is arriving quite early in the day. If it was later then it would be a taxi and "Layo" "Layo" "Layo" all the way there!

Oh and I agree it's one more LT!!!!!

Hi guys

Would be arriving at BKK on 29th Nov morning and hitting straight to pattaya

Have heard, there is a bus No 389 from BKK (new airport) to Pattaya. leaves at 9.00 , 13.00 , 17.00,19.30.

Three queries

1) Is there any other pvt buses (if any one know ) in the morning from the new airport.. at 9 - 10 Am?

2) How far is it from arrivals lounge to go to the airport bus stand (the one where Bus No 389 parks).

3) Prseuming i miss bus 389 (and no other buses at that time) , how to go to the main Bus Stand (Eknami , i suppose) . n how long it takes to reach eknami

Any info would be appreciated :-)

Thanks guys

cheers

You could share a taxi with someone?! That would cut down on the cost and then you share bullshit stories on the way to Pattaya and have a laugh.

If you take a bus to Pattaya, you will need to find a baht bus to take you to the hotel, which could cost you up to 100 baht if you have to hire one. It will probably take you at least one hour extra to get to Pattaya. Up to you, tell us how it went.

guys the 1200 b fair is being charged from pattaya to the new airport. when you arrive at the airport the limo service guys are quoting 3000 b to pattaya, a real rip off, so say no.

go to the private taxi stance a few hundred yards outside the arrivals terminal and get a private taxi for around 1200 b.

Better still for the same price (1200 bht) just E-mail Mr Toom and his driver will meet you at gate 10 with your name on a signboard! Good service and no hassles. :allright
