One thing about United Airlines is that if you fly at least 25,000 miles a year your considered Premier in their frequent flyer program. They will then place you in their Economy Plus section of the plane which provides an additional 5" of legroom for no additional cost.

If you arrive early at the Airport, ask for the seat at the emergency door. With most airline you have sign a form that in case of the emergency you help etc.On front of these chairs is a chair (foldable) for the stewardes who sits there only at take off and landing. So you have about 5Ft !! legroom most of the time! Also you get the BEST service! I'm 6'5 and 130kg, so do understand the problem.

Anyone know the leg pitch/length for Royal Brunei out of interest.

Flying to Thailand at Xmas using them for the first time.

there are quite a few sites with information, do a search on google for royal brunei legroom

and you will find things like this

http://www.cheapflights.co.uk/travel-tips/legroom.html

it says economy at 32 inch pitch

but you cannot be sure it works on all planes.

UA has started to charge for exit row seats if your not a Premier member of their frequent flyer program. :banghead

Notice how all the charter / budget airlines have a pitch of only 28 to 30 inches. a nasty way to start your holiday and maybe a health hazard unless you're super skinny and super fit.

i read somewhere that 27/28 inch is the smallest allowed seat pitch by most aviation authorities and BA's seat

pitch on short haul is 30 - 31 inch and i wouldnt fancy 10 - 12 hours on one of them let alone 28 inch pitch

I don't like that, now some SOB will be paying for the seat that I always get for free.

  • 2 weeks later...

I notice Qatar was not mentioned in the seat pitch listings, and whilst having flown them for the first time recently (which I will not repeat as overall they were shight) but would have to say they have the biggest seat pitch in economy I have ever sat in.

In their Airbus 340-600 Doha - Heathrow the pitch must have been 35/36 " ??
