Hi all,

I was hoping to come down to Pattaya about 10th January for about 3 nights. Are all the hotels likely to be fully booked. I dont mind paying upto 2500 baht per night. I want to pre book, Wife wants to just turn up....!!

Thanks Paul

Some hotels may be fully booked, but even over christmas and new year it's always possible to find a hotel room - even if it can take time to find one. I've arrived on 1 january some times and never had any problem finding a hotel room.

Should be no problem as the peak season is over and as long as you don't have any specific requirements like wifi and in room safe. Try some of the new hotels as they haven't had time to build a dedicated customer base.

I would say Jan 10th is still very much peak season. It's not very fun walking around with a wife nagging you about where to stay and what are we going to do now -- believe me I know. I would plan now.

By the way I just looked up hotels and saw the Welcome Plaza Hotel at 1500B/night now. Did they get a refurbishment? Because I remember the rooms as horribly dumpy.

I'm in the same boat. Now that I've found an airfare that won't break the bank, I'm having to hunt for a hotel room for Dec 27th thru Jan 1st. So far the RG and the Sandy Springs have told me they're sold out.

Indiscipline,

The owner of the hotel may belong to that breed of Pattaya hoteliers who only respond to e-mails if they are confirming a booking. I tried to book for Jan but, up until now, never received any response or acknowledgement.

Indiscipline,

Thanks for that. I'm looking to arrive in Pattaya on 4 Jan and am initially looking for a one-week stay.

I will be around for 3 months after that until the end of March of which 6-8 weeks will probably be in Pattaya.

Hi Guys,There's a brand new hotel opening called 'Arcadia Mansions',it's down the same Soi as Tim's new hotel(at the side of Tim Bar).It is owned by The Carlton(group),who also own Bliss Mansion on Soi Diana. When i was in Funtown earlier this month the receptionist in Bliss told me it should be open around the end of December(around now). She wasn't sure of the prices but you can e-mail enquiries to blissmansion@hotmail.com.
