Areca v. BJ Holiday Lodge v. Sandy Spring

Recommended Posts

If you had to choose between the 3, where do you stay?

I'm leaning towards the BJ at the moment, with the Areca a close second.

Had preferred to try out Metro Apartments or Jasmine Mansion in LK Metro, but both are booked and not available. My previous stay was at the BVP in soi 4. Very nice, but also not available for the dates I'm there.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome! Looking for something clean and fairly quiet in the B1500 per night range. Sea view room and a pool would be a plus!!

For my money, I would go with Sandy Springs, deluxe seaview room for about 1500, if you get get it. Great location, convenient and pretty quiet. I think the rooms are much better then BJ's, but haven't stayed at Areca. Good luck

areca is a bit better than sandy spring but and its a big but soi13 is a great location.

on the other hand staying in the areca lets you see another part of town if you

want to walk a bit.

you could stay in both

:D

They are in different locations, depends on your preference, for me Soi 13 is now too built up,not keen on location of Areca Lodge down by Soi Bukaow,I would choose BJ Lodge, nice seaview rooms at 1200 baht high season, relatively quiet location but very handy for bars on Second Road, can walk to Soi 6 and short baht bus ride to 7 and 8.

WTF you guys talk like it's miles from soi 2 to the walking street. Shit the whole town only covers 10 square miles. Yeah I know, those Fifty cent baht bus rides are a real budget buster for some of you Kee Now Charlies

:allright

Hotel location can be the make or break of a good holiday. Your snobbery with regards to other peoples wealth with respect to thou is despicable :D

Only stayed at Areca out of the three. Would highly recommend hotel, staff exceptional, food acceptable, good attitude ref visitors.

As for location, I quite liked it...enough off the beaten track to be peaceful when you need a day off! Approx 150yards to catch baht buses to sois 9/8/7, for walking street, take a life threatening jog across road and shortcut through shopping mall for baht bus.

If you take a right turn out of Hotel entrance theres a whole NEW world awaiting you!

Downside...poor views unless you get a room facing the pool. :allright

Well I've decided to try the BJ Holiday lodge. I stayed at the BVP earlier this year and found the north Pattaya area to be fairly quiet, and that was probably the biggest factor in my decision. Being in walking distance to BigC and 3 different soapies doesn't hurt either :thumbup. I'll probably check out the Areca on my next trip.

 I find your reply to my posting about the different locations very offensive, the price of getting about the area didn't come into it,I simply expressed my opinion about the relative merits of the locations.

If you are going to start posting messages I suggest you learn some manners or you are going to fall out with a lot of members.
