Marriott - Cheap Price

Hi everyone,

 

Just booked up for 24 nights in Pattaya Marriott during July/August - Cost £1230 for 24 nights. That works out at just over £50 a night.

 

I was well chuffed with this deal!!

 

Thoughts?

 

Anyone got any ideas on where to stay in Hua Hin?

 

I was thinking the Hilton.

I'd be "chuffed" with the deal. You overpaid big time for a long stay during low season. At this time of the year 25 to 35 pounds per night would be easily attainable including breakfast for two and all taxes.

 

This is how I do it, I find out the manager's email and I let him know when I'm coming, how long I'll stay and I low ball the price I'll pay. I also let him know I'm emailing the mangers of 5 other high end properties in Pattaya and I'm looking for the best price. I'm usually able to get between 25 to 50% off the lowest discounted rate.

 

The above only works for long stay and low season. BTW the hotel manager has the authority to offer deep discounts.

personally speaking I have never seen the Marriott hotel being offered so low in price.

 

£50 is a very good price for the hotel, some people have replied saying they have had it 50% of my price but I doubt that!

 

£25-£35 pounds a night???? doubtful!

We're talking the Marriot Hotel here, not the Areca. Marriot costs big bucks no matter where in the world you go.

best price I haveever gotten at the marriot was $80 US. that was 4 years ago. LAst august I tired to get in the marriot but they would not go below $125 US I tried several times starting in april but every reply was I got was they were happy to have me consider them again and they were pleased to offer me a special discount of only $125 a night. a couple of weeks before I was to go I decided to spurge for 1 week and pay the $125. when I sent back the booking they reply sorry they were FULL. this for the first week in august. So much for the long remember low season.

 

right now the best rate for august 2007 I can find is $113 US.

 

 

 

makavelli, does your price include VAT and service charge. Marriot prices go both ways. sometimes you get quoted a price that includes them sometimes a price that has VAT and service added on to it. right now the best price I see inculding vat and service is 4600 baht.

Yea the price includes all VAT and service charges!

 

I know in the Summer it is classed as "Low Season" in Pattaya but I stayed in the Marriott last Summer for a month and it was fully booked everyday so thats why u wont get a huge discount on prices beacuse they dont have to as people book up the hotel anyway!

 

Last Summer I was talking to a bloke and his wife who were staying in the room next to us and they had paid £80 a night while I had only paid £55.

Its all about trying to shop around for the best price.

Last time I stayed at the Marriott, I paid $62USD per night including tax, service charge and breakfast for two. This was a couple of years ago but I was able to get this price using my system, I described in a previous post.

Anyone that thinks that 50 quid per night for the Marriott is a bad deal is full of it IMO.

3500 a night for the Marriott isn't bad at all and his price is 13 pounds a night under the Marriotts standard rate for a bog standard room.

What crap. You shop me the Marriott all in for GBP 25 or so per day and I'll move in.

 

If people are thinking about getting a Marriott for that price then yes, the ones in Bangkok were available for that price using Priceline in Hong Kong after the Asian financial crisis but you know what, people were still filling the fucking Nana at GBP 15 per day. Crazy or what ?
