Imagine my surprise when I logged onto AOL from the Vault's suite fromm computer room and found that the previous member's signon was none other than the famouns Mrrobj! Shit. I knew I was on hollowed ground and that very moment. At 2800 baht per night the room is like 3X the size of anything else I've stayed in Pattaya.

 

Jacuzzi big enough for 3 (believe me). Walk-in shower big enough for 5, with 2 separate shower heads. 2 sinks. Bathroom is separated by two locking doors. Kitchen includes full-size fridge, stove, washer/dryer, sink. Plenty of cabinet space for storage. Laundry service was included in price of room (this may change soon according to owner).

 

Entertainment area includes full-size go-go poll with private couch in front. Huge bar with stools to accommodate 7 people. Another room with 2 large couches and large TV/Karoke/dvd/vcr/stero. 2 balconies over 2nd road from which to people watch. The bedroom consists of a huge bed with large wardrobe cabinets, safe, TV and independently operated AC system.

 

Only drawback is 4 flights up with no lift. New Suite being built on first floor might be better option in 2 or 3 months.

 

Owner is genuinely frinendly guy from Chicago. Pays his staff above/beyond what most do and "takes care" of his people well. Happy bunch all eager to please.

 

Location isn't the greatest, but you can cut through SOI 15 from Walking street and be there in 10 minutes. It's definitely in the "indian" section. Baht busses will take you there for 50-100 baht from almost anywhere in Pattaya. Motorcycles even less.

 

This is by far the nicest place I've been to yet. I recommend the hotel to anyone. Didn't really use the cooking facilities as only 1 of the 10 or so girls I had actually knew how to cook. (and that was really funny). May post some pics later.

The photos of this place on the site look great but there are no photos of any balcony. You say there are two in the suite. Do you have any photos? Are they furnished? Are they comfortable for sitting out enjoying some sun in the daytime or the view at night? What are the views? Would appreciate more info. Thanks for the report.

2800bht is not good value IMO with no swimming pool, no gym, no restaurant (let alone 24hr), no great view and in addition not a good location. Also no lifts and you are paying 2800bht to have to climb 4 floors to get to your room?!?!

It's not for everybody, I agree. No lift. 4 flights can be daunting at times, especially when very drunk. It's really the only drawback. No pool. I used to think pool was critical but found I actually rarely use it. The suites are fully furnished. The balconies (yes, there are 2 in Penthouse #4) each come with 2-3 chairs. The view is of the Siam Baiyoke hotel and 2nd road. It's nice to sit out there at night. And while it might seem expensive compared to other hotels, it does have several amenities you won't find anywhere else for that price; FREE laundry service (just put it in a basket by the door and when you come back - bang! cleaned/pressed). High-speed internet in room. Washer/dryer in case you feel like having your GF do the laundry; full kitchen in case you GF knows how to cook (not likely).

 

The location isn't BAD - just a little hard to get to. A few blocks from Soi 15, Anglewitch and Walking street. for 2800 baht a night, it's worth 2-3 day stay just to enjoy the amenities (Jacuzzi). I admit it's a bit pricey and I probably will try antoher place next time. But that said, the Vault is an EXCELLENT suite/hotel and worth every penny, IMHO.

I recently got back from LOS and stayed at the Vault seven nights. I stayed in a standard room the first three nights at 1000 bht per, then went to Chaing Mai for three days and was booked to return to the Vault for my final 4 nights. Mike upgraded me to a Penthouse suite at no extra charge...the rooms was awesome, just as described above. The free laundry was an added bonus, it's nice to have your laundry cleaned and ironed and returned on hangars every day. Also can vouch for the employees, very helpful and cute too. While I may not spring for the Penthouse, I'll certainly pay 1000 bht for the standard rooms.

I agree, the Vault is a kick ass place. Who cares about the stairs.

 

Mike the owner is way cool He upgraded me also, free of charge. Will def stay there again when Im in town for more than a few days.

I agee. Mike is a walking definintion of pain and discomfort. He has been shot/stabbed/ruptured/etc.. It was amazing to see him go up 4 flights and crawl under tbe Jacuzzi to replace the shower head my bizarre dancers had decided to "misplace" and break

 

This is the nicest place I've stayed at yet. If you've got a few extra bucks and want the very best, this is the place to pick.

Sorry, can't help with pics of the balconies. I assure you there are 2! Two large sliding glass doors in the living room each leading to it's own balcony. Not a big deal, really. Just a basic perch with 2-3 chairs on each. I was mostly sleeping during the day and out at night, so didn't sit out there too much. Do you plan to spend much time sitting on the balconies?

It can be very nice to sit out on the balcony at night with a TG and start to get friendly before moving inside. The balcony at the Sandy Spring overlooking Pattaya Bay with the lights and boats always impresses them. I've even had a BJ on the balcony which is a great way to enjoy the view and all that Pattaya has to offer.

Ahhh yes, that still brings back fond memories from my last visit 3 years ago when I had a room on the top floor

This was a review I wrote on another board of my favourite hotel in Pattaya having stayed in the AReca, Sandy Springs and many other hotels

 

stayed at 'The Vault' on a recommendation from an great Ex-pat friend of mine and to him I shall ever be grateful.

 

I stayed in one of the very large Long rooms which was Light, airy & Spacious. The rooms were beautifully appointed and contained a very comfortable double bed with 4 pillows supplied, a very comfortable sofa and armchair. The wardrobe had a door activated light, was very large and had plenty of coat hangers supplied (little details like the coat hangers and pillows are trifles to some, but meant a lot to me). there is an in-room safe, Microwave, Stereo CD/tape/radio and DVD player with larger than usual TV. Everything in the room smacked of newness

 

There is a free laundary service and any laundary I put into the basket was returned by the evening.

 

All guests have free internet access with no time limit in the internet cafe down stairs or free internet connection in-room. The penthouse rooms have a computer in-room.

 

Michael, the owner, is a very personable and friendly guy willing to help in any way that he could and was more a friend than a hotelier. In fact on the occasion of my first morning he was in the process of bailing out a drunken guest from the local constabulary that had taken a swipe at one of the brown shirts in a moment of drunken pique. he had, the night previously, tried to stop him from leaving the hotel as he was extremely drunk, 'but fools willout' and assisted him in his dressing when he insisted on staggering into the Pattaya night. The staff were also very accommodating and friendly and on the occasions of my accompanied return from my nightly sortee's my 'lady guest' was treated with discretion and respect. The cleaning staff were very efficient and discreet also.

 

There are 3 standard rooms at 1100 Baht, 4 Long rooms at 1300 Baht and 2 Penthouse rooms at 2800 Baht. These are are the same as the other rooms, but include a full kitchen, washer/dryer, 10 ft bar, pentium 4 PC with ADSL connection and printer, seperate jacuzzi and large shower, there is also a separate bedroom with DVD/VCD/CD player as well as in the living room and for those intent on getting your money's worth from a Gogo dancer, there is a Gogo stage with pole!!!

 

The Vault can be found on Pratamnak Road, opposite The Tower baiyoke hotel and adjacent to the Camelot hotel and is within five minutes walking distance from Walking Street

 

There is nothing negative that I can say about this place other than that there is no swimming pool. My absolute favourite hotel in Pattaya....Excellent and represents incredible value for money.

I wanted to stay at the Vault for my upcoming March trip and I sent them an email and received no reply in about a week. I went ahead and booked at the Residence Garden for the first part of my stay but will probably try to stay at the Vault for a portion of my trip if I get a response.
