im going to be breif but just want to post anyone even thinking about staying at this place....

only thing it has is maybe the resturant and the location....

i had 5 rooms booked few weeks go and about all was for 8 to 10 nights each and by the end of the stay everyone single person had left for very good reason....

start with mine i was the one that booked the rooms and i get there to pattaya 930 pm

ready to shower and hit ws with all my friends.....oh no thats not going to happen...

get to my room and its awful...shower does not work water barely drips out and thats cold

but the kicker was im on top floor and no ac at all....

owner graham tells me that the whole unit is out be tomorrow sometime before fixed....

well its my first night back in los and im not going to bf and bring her back to that room thats

over 90 in there ....all this guy offered to do for me is give me a small fan i could use for the night...

dint offer to find me room for one night and pay for it so i would not have to go out at 10pm and try to find a room....dint make one effort at all and dint even offer me that room for free even....

went to about 6 places all booked and finally got a place on soi 2 for the night....

one of my buddies moved out the whole water was out over 24 hrs no water at all and was not offered a thing etiher just like i wasnt....im sorry customer service is awful at this place...

i know the rooms are cheap at 750 a night but they are not even close to being worth that....

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience there.

I stayed for 7 days last October and it was ok, but as you say 'you get what you pay for.'

The A/C in my room wasn't brilliant but was acceptable and the water went off for a couple of minutes whilst having a shower, but only 2 or 3 times.

On the whole I was happy and would stay there again although they must hold the record for the slowest lift in the world.

I've stayed at the P & W and my room was good. The lift didn't work for a few days during one stay. I asked about a discount but the owner wouldn't give one. BTW good pub grub at the P & W.

yea u can go 24 hrs without ac all day and u want even get offered a discount...

u can go 24hours without any water what so ever and u want even get small discount....

one guy moved out in my group the guy was gone from 7am till 6pm and they dint

even come and clean his room or get him new towells or anything

when asked why they dint make up his room all he was told is the cleaning staff had gone

home and they would be back in the morning nothing he could do now they forgot he guessed....

and the life was awful i only had to use it twice thank god but it would have drove me crazy

in a 11 night stay there with that.....

no doubt the food is good there at p and w.....as far as the rooms though no way i would even

think about staying there even as cheap as it is there so many more options

right on the same soi with way better service and rooms...

Sounds like Andy who was the landlord there and a very good host has gone ?.

Was a nice place to stay, clean rooms, friendly and welcoming.

Must have changed hands as thats a very different Pub to the one i know, Graham must be the new Owner/Landlord ?.

I stayed at the P&G on my last trip...

It was just OK... nothing special for the price. Everything worked fine. Rooms were cleaned very well and about the same time every day. There is no ID check if that is a concern for anyone. I think the ID check procedure is over-rated by most board members anyway.

The room was just OK... you get exactly what you pay for.

I am in the process of booking the P&W now. Generally I find it ok, but at some stage I have encountered most of the problems mentioned. Eg: cold, trickling shower, no water for 24hrs, and the rooms were getting a bit threadbare. However, last time I stayed (Dec 06), the rooms had been refurbished nicely and everything was sweet! I particularly like the twin access. 1) If you want company or to be seen the front door, or if you want to be more discreet you can come in from the side entrance and strait up to your room. Sure, the lift can be slow, but theres always the stairs. The room safes should offset the lack of ID checks. My only gripe really is the difficulty I have in making the booking (they are 4th rate at replying to my emails), and the fact that you have to pay in Baht. Ties up your readies. Andrew (andy) has been gone :clap2 a while, along with Ron who actually part owned it with the current owner, Bob. Graham is No2, and Mick is 3rd in command. Personally I like them all. Just wish they could master this email business.

I tend to disagree about the ID check. When the BG sees her info being written down it tends to give her second thoughts about the possibility of ripping you off as her identity is known. Then again the this will not stop the hard core thief.

Alan,

I booked there several years ago. Lasted ONE night. Room was VERY basic in my opinion.

Room safe would not work so mine-host gave me a masterkey for the night.

God knows how many others had also used the key before me. I was very

uncomfortable about the entire situation and hated the room.

Left the next morning walked 20 paces to Bella Vista (in the lane connecting

Sois 7 & 8). Bella was virtually new at that time and was B550 per night. Nowadays

Bella want about B650 per nite if you stay a week or so, off peak season.

I like the food at P&W, full english breakfast is best value. Other meals are getting

expensive compared to alternatives. Again my personal opinion.

I like the daily special evening meals at places like Shennagins, draft beer is cheaper

there too. Believe P&W no longer have evening happy hour beer prices.

Its got to be said they probably don't need to offer beer happy hour prices, always lots

of customers there most times I'm there.

Plenty of good breakfast meal competition all over Pattaya.
