I've stayed on Soi 2, Soi Diana, and at the Vault (north of Soi 16, methinks). Of all, I prefer the Soi Diana location as its right in the middle with lots of things to do within walking distance. Can someone recall the names/websites of other hotels on Soi Diana? I know about the metropole and areca lodge, but can't seem to recall the others although I walked down the street 100X already. <grin

I'm looking to stay in late June/July for 3 weeks and would like to book a rate in the 700-1000 baht range. Thanks.

If you are planning to stay at the Diana Inn for any length of time then it pays to join the Pattaya Sports Club. This membership gives you 10% off your accommodation, drinks and meals at all the Diana Group places and you also receive good discounts at most the golf clubs.

It costs 300 baht to register and then 400 baht per year

If you would consider SOI LKMETRO which is really same location, then you would open the door to many more accomodations.

P.M. me if require LKMetro suggestions,as this is where I always stay.

Thanks. i checked the site out and it looks promising. Areca Lodge, Diana Inn, Globetrotter and other hotels included. Also Classroom Gogo, Living Dolls, Lipstick and even my favorite - RED POINT BAR (Yodsak).

Question: do you have to make reservations with the discount card? And will the gogos and othe bars always honor the discount or only on certain occasions? 10% off my drinking and hotel bill over a 10 day period would likely save me over $100 easy, or one lame-dupe overpaying LT. :clueless

BELIEVE IT OR NOT I AM A GOLFER AND HAVE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE!! ALTHOUGH I HAVE USED CARD AT GOLF COURSES (A LOT BIGGER SAVING)

AS FAR AS I'M AWARE, YOU HAVE TO PRODUCE YOUR CLUB CARD AT CHECK IN, THEREFORE, IF YOU BOOK IN ADVANCE AND DONT HAVE YOUR CARD AT CHECK IN, YOUR "FRESH OUT BOY SCOUT"!!

A new hotel might be opened by your dates, its located right across from Megabreak. Also if you expand your area to across Soi Buakaow you'll have the J & P court and the Opey de Place.

I don't think you have to make the reservation with the discount card, you just need to present it when booking in.

If you are arriving in Pattaya during the day time then just call in to Pattaya Sports Club as you are coming in to town. There are located just off 3rd Road about 500 metres down from Pattaya North road. Remember to have a couple of passport photos.

I have been quoted by Sawadee.com reservations deptartment for the Areca Lodge for 12 days @ B1000 per night (double, standard). However, must pay in advance 2 weeks before arriving. Can the discount still work? Probably not since going through a reservation and paying in advance.

Still, B1000 for the Areca ain't all that bad either! Other choice is Sabai Inn @B700 (Chaba package - no breakfast, Soi 2). I'm leaning towards Areca, although over 10 days we're talking B3000 diff, a princely sum for BGs!

Thanks for the suggestions. Here's a thought....it's low season (July 1-11), suppose no reservation and just "walk in"? Never tried this before but have heard can get even better rates. What the the LEAST amount anyone has paid at the Areca? Cheers!

Areca Lodge "official" rate is 1150 baht for standard room (which is basicly same as superior room, but without the coffee/ tea making facilities). I stayed in Areca mid february and can only recommend this hotel! Absolutly well managed, nice pools, good breakfast buffet (although restaurant can get a bit crowded around 9 am), nice staff. At 1000 baht/ night (incl. all taxes and breakfast) a no-brainer for me: BOOK! I did so for my upcoming september visit to Pattaya.

Also no problem with bringing guests. Guest has to leave ID at front desk, you sign voucher/ waiver, guest presents voucher when leaving and gets ID card back. No charge, no hassle.

Rooms are spacious, everything works well, good tv reception, in room safe. location close to 2nd Road and Beach Road. Even on Soi Diana and Soi LK there are beerbars en gogo bars.

I returned from staying 30 days at the Jasmine Mansion on Soi Baukao which is between Soi Honey and Soi Diana. Their prices are very reasonable and they are a full service 24 hours/day hotel and rooms start at 650 bahts a day with weekly and monthly rates. Check out their website at...

I also like the Soi Diana area like you. :D

Have received an offer of B550 per night for metro apartments on Soi Metro. Sounds really good; private safe, AC, king size bed, refrigerator, bar, daily maid service, private balcony, shower. Billiards in attached bar downstairs.

This is B450 less than Areca. Of course, the metro does not offer breakfast, but at B400 is Bfast really worth THAT much? (actually, I think during my last 14 day stay, I was only up for breakfast maybe 2X).

previous reviews have mostly been positive.

the Acrea breakfast is shite.

I booked at the Metro Apartments (thanks everyone), but I always thought the Areca Breakfast was pretty good. As I recall, eggs to order and several other ready-made dishes for the taking. If the Nana Hotel breakfast is a "10", then I'd give Areca a "6", which ain't bad.
