We hired one out to go to one of the further islands past Koh Larn....Got Pai for the day....not expensive....but can't remember how much....few of us on there...and it was pittance.

Just walk up to the chaps on the beach...and ask...or there are some kiosks on the other side of the road near Soi 8.

Last time I took on a speedboat, there were varying prices dependent on what part of beach road you took on the boat. Usually in the price range of 1500 baht give or take a few hundred. Take a few friends and the girls too for a day trip. Stay out until just before sunset and head back. Food, booze, etc, you can get on the island. Do a little island hopping too as this can be fun.

Starting prices are around Bt1500 for one of the smaller boats. I guess a full day for the larger boats would be around Bt2000+ depending upon how many islands you wanted to visit and how far out you went.

no doubt a dumb question, but this is what I do when I'm drunk...

I have thought about renting a boat and/or a parachute ride, etc... Do they have lockers on the boat where I can secure my 10K baht and ID? I have hesitated to rent because I was not sure I could secure my valuables as I can in a hotel. Don't want to carry 10-20K baht in my pocket and get tossed in the bay! Anyone know?

Try purchasing a pelican case to keep your valuables and other stuff from getting wet. They have models you can put a lock on too. Depending on your needs you can get one as small as an Ipod case to a case the size that you can check in at the airport. They come in colors too. I have a couple that I bring with me in a bag on the boat which protects anything I do not want to sink or get wet...Did I mention they float too~!!!

Hey I like those suckers, look great. So they are completely water proof? Anyone have any idea where I can buy them in Australia? I would like to get one to put my hearing aid in when I go to the beach.
