Special deal from Air Asia, book April 18th- 20th, fly between Oct. and March. I've been trying to get a free seat but have no luck, every time I try to book a flight, a price comes up, does anybody have any tricks for getting one of these free seats?

Hi,

You would need to book and pay for your seat first, then go into a draw to have your payment refunded.

If it was as easy as you would like it to be, then they would never sell any seats at all

cheers

I checked it out and yes they say 0 bht for airfare, for example I checked out Phuket to Bangkok one way in Oct and it came back with a fare of 1,284 baht (dirt cheap $47AUD), but I believe this is airport taxes only.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

You are correct. I got the same for Hat Yai and Chiang Mai in Nov ........ 642 Baht in taxes and charges each way.

It's also good for International flights ........ Bangkok-Hanoi comes up at a total fare of 2,750 Baht return.

They had a similar promotion a while ago. I got a free seat but you will only get it on one leg never on both. You still have to pay taxes & surcharges which are sometimes more than the fare. It was still a good deal.

By the way I have found that when you enter a departure date you often see the fare is cheaper on one or both of the following 2 days. Quit the site and re-enter it. Enter a departure date 2 days before you want to fly and Lo the price on the original date is reduced. Select the date you originally wanted on this screen and you have saved a few Baht.

Secondly for the best prices try to book not more than 3 months in advance but more than 1 month. A friend with an internet cafe spent days doing this while sitting around waiting for customers. He said the same applied to Tiger Airways & Jetstar Asia.

Weren't air Asia going to fly to London gatwick for very low prices? Seems to have gone quiet. :allright

It is "suspended" for a year or so until they get the right aircraft for the route. The actual route was never announced but Stansted and Manchester were the apparent favourites.

Air Asia Rocks. I do not know how they do these specials but they work great if you are flexible on your travel dates. Just booked BKK - Hanoi return for Feb.08 with my wife. Pay taxes only. Two people return flights, approx $70 Can Each. Definitely a bargain.

Last summer I got free seats also BKK - PP return for taxes only $37 Can and it was very efficient and stress free.

I only hope that they continue to have these sales.

I had 3 flights recently with Air Asia and the planes were never more than about half full. My flight to Langkawi from KL was delayed, but when I went to check in I was given the chance to transfer to an earlier flight, which was also delayed. The end result was that I arrived at my hotel at more or less the same time as I would had my flight been on time.

I had a direct flight back to Bangkok from Langkawi and we actually took off 5 minutes early :banghead . We then went to the far end of the terminal from where we had to be bussed to the appropriate gate. Fortunately, this gate was quite close to Immigration and for the first time ever, there was only one person ahead of me in the queue.

I'm thinking of going to Singapore next month so I'll see what they have to offer for that though I will likely be too late now for the free seat offer.

Following on from my above post, I today booked a return flight to Singapore with Air Asia for the end of next month. No offer of free seats, but the price at a bit over 4,600 baht was still around half of what Thai Air and Singapore Air wanted. The latter two wanted around 10,000 baht.

One awkward bit was that they needed the address to which my credit card statement is posted, which is of course different from my address here in Thailand.

Just remembered, I must make a note of my user name for Air Asia.
