East West travel BKK fare sale until 30th april

Recommended Posts

Likewise,it is low season but those fares are excellent.

Even with the horrendous rises in taxes etc, prices are still only around £440 non stop.

Indeed the pricing on Etihad has skyrocketed recently with the removal of the Gatwick option and the double departure out of Heathrow implemented.

Great rates advertised in the email and on the website but they couldnt actually supply any tickets at that price.,

I gave a range of dates covering 12 days for departure in April / May and 5 days for the return.

Best that they could actually supply over the phone was Thai @ £463.10 return.

A complete waste of time.

If price is the main criteria (it is for me), then Aeroflot at £370 return takes some beating.

with the present pricing policy i can see etihad flying from Manchester and Heathrow with empty planes ?

Exactly the opposite is true. Airlines booking/yield management systems only release seats into the cheaper classes when they aren't selling sufficient numbers at the higher price. A quick check on pricerunner or similar site for the week commencing 2 June shows different airlines having cheaper seats on different days of the week. Etihad can be had for 456 quid the same week which is around the ball park figure being offered by other carriers but not on a daily basis.

Completely incorrect.

Price on Eva and Thai is £443 plus/minus £4 depending on dates and the flights are wide open on both carriers via Westeast Travel.

Err, what is incorrect? WestEast isn't searched on Pricerunner.

Eva and Thai do have availability but on some days Qatar at 427 quid is considerably cheaper than both and on some days Etihad is cheaper than Thai (the same is the case on the WestEast site ......... . Far removed from the statement "Indeed the pricing on Etihad has skyrocketed recently" which is not only untrue but unhelpful to newbies planning their trips. The reality is that they (Etihad) have zero availability in the cheaper classes on some dates, as does Qatar. That has very little to do with bookings from the UK but rather the peak travel periods for folk based in the Gulf (Thu-Sun) who pay a considerable premium for their Doha/Dubai originating flights compared to your average UK-based traveller. Therefore, it is the legs tbetween the Gulf states and BKK that are booked out rather than the UK=Gulf legs.

By the time you include the CC surcharge levied by WeastEast EVA comes out at 453 quid which is near enough to the 456 quid ball park figure I quoted.

I don't understand the term the flights are wide open ........ unless you have access to the CRS you can't tell if there is one seat or fifty available at any given price.

Hi m8.

The prices on the website and email of Westeast does not include any taxes, there is no way

you will get tickets at those advertised prices.

I have paid £462 to fly with Thai airways on a Saturday and i am over the moon with my price.

I certanly don't think i have wasted my time.

Aeroflot £370 say no more thank you, you can stick that airline i rather pay more.

Err yes I do have access to the complete reservation systems and not just the maximum of 9 seats available in each class of seating in economy.

Thats why I can tell you and anyone else thats interested that both carriers are wide open (within reason)

Im sorry but Etihad has skyrocketed in price (I will add in "general") either by removing the amount of cheaper seats available or by other means.

My last 3 flights have been with Etihad, and I am starting to get a few FF miles :D They have always been good value ranging from £380-£450, but what a shock I had when trying to book up for August. Around £760 :banghead They mite as well bend me over and :D I got it in the end with Qatar for £480

NOVEMBER, same story; Qatar=£436, Etihad=£560

I know that August is peak time, but £280 more :alright

I think that qualifies as "sky-rocketing" fares :D

:D
