Was reading Rhoel,s report of moving.he mentioned coming to Pattaya ,to be easier to get to Cambodia,he mentioned paying bahtbus 15 baht, is this the new price,usually the baht bus prices causes many,many,many members to comment

I'm here at the moment and can confirm that it is still 10 baht for the farang and 5 baht for the Thai and it takes me all the way to Jomthien!

I was in Pattaya in April. I was on the Baht bus with my thai gf and on the bus was 2 farangs with their thai gf's. They got off first and one of the farangs went to pay the driver. He came back to the other 3 and said the driver wants 40 baht anyone got an extra 10 baht. So i says to my gf why does the driver want 40 baht surely it should only be 30 baht. 2 tens + 2 fives. She says when thai girl with farang they charge 10 baht for thai girl. Come to think of it that's why she always hands over 20 baht to driver wherever we go. Looks like i've been conned on this one, she does seem keen to help the Pattaya economy.

Well thank goodness that the price of the songtows has not risen 5 baht. I would have cancelled my trip in September.

The "maximum" far is Bt10 though many of late have taken down their paperwork stating this. More and more just want to park up and wait for private hire. They are necessary parasites but the fact is that there are far too many of them.

 

I'll chuck them Bt10 but I don't want the bastards asking for more, nor do I want them deciding to stop and refuse to go further, nor do I want them going all the way to BigC but then deciding to turn at Tops after telling me they were going all the way and still wanting payment. I reckon they gain from me if I just want to go a short trip but it evens itself out if I want to go a long distance.

 

I'll take the red bus for Bt20 if I am going from say Jomtien to Naklua but there is no timetable so you never know and it is just too hot to wait.
