Hi again guys

Have recently joined this site for the express purpose of downloading their movies for viewing!

The problem I have is as follows, after selecting the film and going thru the loading etc process's the movie begins to play normally. After a short time (Up to 1 minute only) two things happen.Firstly the screen freezes and movie stops whilst continuing to jump from one freeze frame to another, however the audio is unaffected as this continues unaffected. The other thing that happens sometimes is that the movie after a short time stops completely and the "Communicating" % starts over again and upon arriving at 100% "Normal" service is resumed, but alas for a very short time before one of these situations repeats itself!

I have used their "Help Service" and found them to be at best unconcerned,I have even on 2 occasions at their suggestion "Un-installed" the player and re-loaded it,all to no avail!I realise that it probably has a simple remedy that I in my ignorance have been overlooking so any help would be appreciated!

Finally I belong to another movie/music site that uses "Real Player" as a host and when downloading any clips from there have experienced no problems at all! Thanks in advance!

P.S. I solved the earlier DVD player problem,I threw it on the scrap heap! :clueless

Hard to say what's the problem, but if you start with good tools... Real Player is almost as bad as QuickTime.

Try one of these, you should have both of them anyhow. (Totally free):

Real Alternative

VLC

I chose to download the "Codec" option and after 1st phase it advised me to un-install my real player, is this indeed necessary or needed? Plus I pay a small monthly fee for the genuine "Real" non service, so should I be able to play the movies as advertised on their site thru this new alternative?

If this appears to be a dumb question please excuse my lack of computer expertise! <grin

It's not dumb.

The people who do Real Alternative

1. HATE Real Player and assume you do too, and therefore

2. assume you want to get rid of Real Player and want to help you do it.

It certainly isn't necessary to uninstall Real if you don't want to. It's really an "up to you" moment.

I don't like Real Player. It's big, it's kludgy, it's intrusive (starts every time you start the computer) and more. But that's me. I think everyone should agree with me, if only because I'm right, but I'm big enough to realise you may have a wrong opinion on account of being misguided and I agree it would be wrong to actually kneecap you about it.

I haven't watched any of the films here, but I would guess that if it isn't a hardware problem that it may be the lack of a correct Codec.

Can you play DVD Videos using Real Player?

If you have eliminated everything else, download and install either; Nic's XviD Codec or Koepi's Xvid Codec.
