No complaints from me. Just be prepared to walk up some stairs if you're on one of the higher floors. Otherwise, it's great. Good Wi-Fi and an interesting neighborhood. The Hell club is just about right across the street, Lolita's is around the corner, as are two go-go bars. Over on Soi Bukaow is Club Oasis? Something like that. The food in the neighborhood is also good. There's Robin's Nest and a Pizza place over on Soi Diana Inn, and plenty of food carts out on the street. There's a laundry right on Soi LK Metro with reasonable rates. And if you want Walking Street, just take a baht bus down Soi Bukaow.

They can be booked well in advance, though, so if you want to stay, book ahead.

I almost forgot. The staff is good.

I tried to book there a year or so ago and he was full up - but - was nice enough to find me a place right across the Soi - it is a small community on Soi LK Metro and they do look out for each other - in a good way.

There are a bunch of guest houses on the same street. If you can't find a room at one place, just try some of the others. The Rock House has rooms. Also the Cock and Bull, if it's still there, the Stereo Bar, Drunken Duck. There's a few more, but I can't remember them all.

Great place to stay - Leaving tomorrow after staying 3 months in the place

Here a link to a review I did when I stayed there in March Metro Apartments Review

This is not the same place as the MK Metro. Look at the pinned topic above and you'll see the post by MM which tells you the discount for this hotel. I've stayed at the MK once and it is a very nice hotel. Great prices for longer stays listed below.

The FLB rates are as follows:

Room Type.....Sqm.........Daily........Monthly

Standard.........36..........1800..........33000

Studio.............46..........2000..........36000

Superior..........56..........2200..........42000

1 BR Suite.......72..........3000..........48000

Deluxe Suite....168........5900..........72000

thanks for the feedback guys. i will definitely book up with the metro, hopefully they will have rooms available.

I didn't notice a pool on their website. Also, it appears the beds are not kingsize. These are both dealbreakers for me. What about LK Renaissance? Anyone heard about it?

You are correct, it dosen't have a pool but the beds are certainly kingsize and I had no problems on my last trip sharing it with two delictiable ladies on a few occasions :D

  • 2 weeks later...

The new LK hotel on Diana looks very nice but I think it is 2000+ pn.

I cannot see many falang mongerers staying there because of the cost, no matter how nice it is.

Funnily enough I was sitting at a bar beer almost opposite and watched the entrance for a while, in a place like Areca there are always falangs coming and going but didn't spot any foot traffic at the new LK.

That would be the LK Metropole located off Soi Diana however surrounded by Soi LK. When myself and a couple friends checked out the Metropole when it first opened besides the dialy and monthly rates they had rates for 2 months, 6 months and a year which were significantly less than the monthly.

Another place that has just opened in that area is the Pasadena just across from the Cock and Bull and I had heard that they had a lift. Lets not forget the Jasmine (operated by one of our BMs) it was the first hotel to be up and running in that area.

I rember walking thru that area about 5 years back as it was a direct route to the Buffalo Bar from 2nd Rd. Then it was a dumpy area with some small beer bars and karoke joints. The next time I walked through there a couple months later the entire corner had been bulldozed. The places then gradually began to open with the Pasadena being the last piece. I did notice that at the corner enterance on Buakaow last week that one place had closed and extensive remolding is taken place.
