I stayed in the Queen Vic in december

queen vic positives -

bar is spot on

bar staff friendly and fun and you can have a bit of banter with them

food is good

easy for the baht bus to and from walking street, 5mins max to walking street

has wi-fi

rooms are furnished well, i had a de-luxe good size

maids came between 1 - 2 pm everyday without fail

rear entrance can be used anytime, security gaurd there late on to take id, i had a couple of girls without id and still got them to the room (forgotten id's 1 from darkside no chance of going back there at 2am)

minibus is new leather interior, although 1800 bht

owner vic is a nice fella, comes over now and again to see if everthing is ok

air con good and fan in room

good view of a few bars on soi 6

in room good safe,tv,dvd,stereo,alarm clock,big shower(enough for 2/3)

negatives

no sun on the balconies and no swimming pool if you wanted to get some sun

top floor a bit of a pain when your pissed and watch out for the low headroom at the top of 3rd floor

ladyboys hang around soi 6/1 at back, no hassle just want to 'suck my dick' all the time(i never of course)

room 21 has a noisy bed(sorry) but vic would sort that out if you tel him

hope this helps, pm me if you need to know more

Sky-Top is less then 2 minutes away from soi 6. Rooms in the back are reasonably quiet by Pattaya standards. Sky-Top is clean with AC, fridge, TV, DVD player, in room safe.

Skyslops is on the wrong side of Second Road to Soi 6....... which means having to dodge all the motorcycles and cars on a suicide mission to get across the road, just to get to Soi 6!

You can't beat the Queen Vic!

Stopped there 4 times, great value, good food and great rooms.

Bit of an over reach to say it's a "suicide mission" to cross 2nd Road. The name is Sky-Top not Skyslops. Kinda silly on your part to misspell it.

chodeekaa,

Next time you stop in to use the internet take the time to look at one of the rooms. Newly renovated within the last year.

try putting your glasses on BigDUSA and you'll find i wrote skytop and quoted skyslops from the previous poster, and i agree with the previous poster crossing 2nd road at that point is a suicide mission, done it many times

for about the same price you could have better rooms at the queen vic from what i have seen from skyslops(oops) i mean sky-top photo's

<huh

Soi 6 wouldn't be top of my list of areas to stay in Pattaya but if it was then the QV wins hands down. Its location gives you easy options of heading north or south, it has wifi in the rooms, it has a decent restaurant and pub with professional staff, and doesn't suffer from the traffic noise on 2nd Road.

You seem to have a sense of humour deficiency BigD

If definitely looks like the Skyslops....... not the most inviting of places on Second road.

The way you go on about the place you would think it was the Dusit! It isn't, it is a dodgy looking cheap guest house.

And full of whores, conmen and thieves by all accounts.

Queesn Vic isn't the only place to stay on Soi Six. The Derbyshire has rooms, as does another bar further on down towards Beach Road (I forget the name). And Don't forget the Butterfly Suites, if it's still there.

I never stayed at any of these places, but it might be fun for a few weeks.

What about bed size for the Queen Vic? I've seen from their website they say double beds. That seems small for todays standards. Does anyone know for sure how big Queen Vic beds are?
