I am taking a side trip to Cambodia next time out and wonder what suggestions you have for middle of the road accommodation in PP and SR? Just reasonable id fine and in the action area.

Another BM (CSM) and I stayed at the Golden Orange Hotel in Siem Reap. It's pretty basic, not a 5-star resort by any means, but it's very clean, neat and well-kept. Breakfast is included, and the staff is very friendly and speaks good English. We did not, however, see any guests, ourselves included, with girls in tow at any time. Some families and a few quasi-backpackers, but that's about it. One down side is that it's a 5-story hotel but has no elevator. If you're on the top floor like I was it can be a bit of a hike to your room.

Hi there Stevo. Here is an update. I think that I need to get some bookings into the system or I will miss out. What I have done is to book the whole trip via a travel agent and will cancel if the medical reports are not up to scratch. I have untill the 15th of March. In essence I fly out late May to BK and have two nights there andt then fly Thai to PP and have 6 nights there.I will go direct to Pattaya afer I get back in early June.

At this stage there is no accommodation booked other than the two nights in BK and no travel at all in Cambo. I propose to go to PP and travel to Siem Riep by road and back by river and have three nights there and three nights in PP.
