I just received this query from a 46 yo couple, living now in a 'lefter-than-before" Latin country(edited):

 

Were Scott and Kasey, an American couple living on xxxx Island off the coast of yyyy. Due to the political climate we are going to leave here very soon. As soon as we sell our places. So never having lived in Asia we are looking for advice and information. We're contacting a few swinger friends . Possibly you can give us some insight as to the sex scene there for a couple. Also your input on living there, such as costs, quality of life, business opportunities things like that. We have a lifetime income of between 2 to $3000 USD per month without working. We might like some sort of part time business because being retired is boring. Please tell us about Thailand and what areas based upon your experiences and knowing what we like (swinging especially), what where you would recommend and yourself.

They can get laid a lot. Mrs Kicker and I can even guarantee that, at least for a short time no pun intended.

 

What else can you say? They can live okay on their income, not wonderful but they have enough to rent a house and get laid a lot. They can't work in Thailand but they can do all kinds of businesses while they get laid a lot - it's 2008 in Thailand, too, and they can sell on eBay or write stories or sell their pictures of getting laid a lot.

 

They don't have enough money for a real visa, so they'll have to do visa runs every three months out of the country, but in Laos, Cambodia and northern Malaysia they can get laid while they renew their visas - a lot.

I don't think there are a lot of swinging couples in Patts but sure a lot of ladies who like ladies or pretend to and a lot of young Thai guys who think it is a status to be out with a Farang ladies. I suggest 3 nights a week you each go your separate ways and don't come home until a agreed time with no questions asked. That minimizes the jealousy.

All depends what your definition of "swinging couples" is. I actually agree with you, because the people who describe themselves as swingers that I've met are all serious, dour-faced, counters - they count how often, and that seems to be their total life. In fact they CALL it "the lifestyle". I find it pretty sad, although I have been known to, um, meet them from time to time - not often.

 

Finding couples to... well, have fun with isn't all that difficult in Pattaya, probably easier than other places although it's not all that difficult elsewhere, certainly including Bangkok. The Internet sure has helped with that. These folks are up for dinner or whatever, and see what happens. The attraction here is not "let's put a notch in the bedpost" but having fun.

I don't know. They should give it a lot of thought because although it may sound like fun and be great for a while, problems crop up. Normally it is the liberated female who has the problem. She eventually discovers that she is not as liberated as she thought she was. On the other hand she may decide that she likes the Thai boys and that doesn't set well with the liberated guy. It all sounds like a great way of life but it seldom works out.
