After many stays in Pattaya, usualy at the Sabai Lodge, I've desided to go up market for my December trip this year. I'm thinking of the Marriott Resort. I know it's in a great location, and from what I have read on here, it is guest freindly. Are there any other hotels in this league that I should be considering,....great loocation, great rooms, pool, gym, and guest freindly, etc.????

I stayed at LK Renaissance last year. So so. I was thinking the terrace garden suite at the Marriott.

I recommend the Sheraton. It's much nicer than any of the hotels mentioned in this thread. It's convenient for Walking Street, but that's about it. I posted pics somewhere in the hotel section.

????????????? The Sheraton that's in North pattaya passed the dolphin statue roundabout ???????

No, South Pattaya beyond the Bali Hai pier. I would not like to walk there after a night on Walking St. Edited by jacko

Why on earth would you try to get there from Walking Street anyway?

Perhaps to get back to your room after a night out....duh!

Your map shows it near Phratamnak Rd which I think is out a little. It is closer to the sea.

You can get to it by going on past the pier too. My point is these are dark areas sometimes frequented by the motorcycle kids.

It's not that close to the sea at all. It's on the Phra Tamnak Road. See more clearly here. No way would I recommend it to someone to attempt to walk from Walking Street at any time of the day. Unless you have a preference for rough and ready companions. :)

To be fair, there are Songthaews stationed at that end of Walking Street, so it is a feasible option.

What the hell is wrong with you man (great map by the way), even the map link you just supplied shows The Sheraton down by the sea and a LONG way from Phratamnak Rd, stop being dopey. It is between the Pattaya Public Park and the Royal Cliff Garden, out there on the point. Where are you talking about? Find the Sheraton on your own map! You can stroll there from Bali Hai pier and not go anywhere near Phratumnak Rd. I have done it, although the hill is a windbreaker.... I wouldn't at night though. Edited by jacko

Try not to get your Knickers in a twist, jacko. :thumbup Take a look at the address on their website: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/sheraton/pro...propertyID=1549

Sheraton Pattaya Resort

437 Phra Tamnak Road · Pattaya 20150 · Thailand

Stroll there? No thanks. :)

Actually, to be fair, it's probably a nice enough walk during the daytime, with a bottle of cool water at hand. Once.

It matters little what their address is on the Website, do you actually think people live in PO boxes!

You posted an incorrect map quoting me, the true location is much nicer!

Hey guys, cool it on the Sheraton thing. It's way to out of the way for what I need. I've gone and booked a terrace suite at the Marriott.

  • 2 weeks later...

The Marriott has a unique way of being right in the middle of things yet appears, once inside and poolside, to be 100 miles from the madness just metres from it's doors.

I love the place, the rooms are not huge but that is not really what you are paying for.
