SQ ex Manchester

Recommended Posts

Singapore Airlines reducing frequency as from May to 3 x weekly. Could this bring forward Emirates plan to 3 x daily ?
Great airline but I couldn't afford them anyhow? Emirates will make up their own mind, but they feed a different market, Middle East and sub-continent.

One day I will use SQ to Bangkok, in business class, have to start saving!

One of the biggest markets Emirates serve ex Manchester via Dubai hub is Australisia. SQ also serve this market ! Latest rumour is SQ will leave Manchester in November 09 ! Don't forget SQ need to fill their larger birds ex LHR (380)

There is only ONE 'biggest', not 'one of the biggest', that is a catchall phrase used by those who do not want to research or know the details. Emirates are most certainly stepping up it's services and presence, to Oz with the A380 to Sydney and services to Brisbane and Melbourne. They are looking at a bigger share of the UK(Europe)-Oz market, their sponsorship of sports indicates that. You may be correct, but a few times I pushed my trolley past the Emirates check-in towards KLM at Manchester, the queue did not look Australia bound! Probably seasonal. Most certainly Manchester serves more leisure travelers. Perhaps they need to start flying in some support for Manchester City from Abu Dhabi! :drunk That could fill a few A380s. Edited by jacko

I don't think Manchester City need more supporters to fill their stadium especially when motorists here in UK are helping to increase the transfer fund ! Not only are Emirates looking at a 3rd daily ex Manchester rumours are they are looking at flights ex Cardiff and double daily ex Glasgow. And as i said previously Emirates fly quite a high percentage of passengers ex UK to Australsia. If SQ do pull out of Manchester you can bet Emirates will increase capacity.

Agreed, I did a bit of Internet reading and was surprised as to the commitments and plans of Emirates. I wonder if they will surge ahead despite the economic downturn, which I believe is seriously hitting Dubai too with property prices and salaries tumbling (although there, you are not supposed to talk about it). I think SQ are better planners so they might be going the right way.

Emirates doesn't really suit me, as the Middle East is not 'on the way' to Thailand. I don't like the extra travel time, I don't like the huge crowded airport at Dubai, nor am I particularly fond of the region. But being a Heathrow despising Manchester lad, my choices will be limited!
