Hello everyone, am visiting Pattaya in July and this would be my third time there, on the last 2 trips i have stayed at the seem hotel, called Allseasons hotel, which is a good hotel i think, but i fancy i change and have book the Mercure Hotel, By the way is part of the same hotel group as the Allseasons. But my question is, am i better sticking to the same hotel, or trying different ones?

Also if anybody has stayed at the Mercure Hotel can you please give me feedback on that hotel, thanks. :P

I think every hotel in Patts and BKK alike have something different to offer everyone. Some might be higher end, so you get top class service and a top quality room. Some guesthouses give you the chance to see the restaurants and bars below operate on a daily basis. Some are better suited for mongering, via Walking Street area or Soi6. Others make you feel like your at home with a private bungalow or small house. Its totally up to you my friend.

I know my first few trips over here, I stayed at different hotels each time. It felt like the hotels I was staying at each time were serving the purpose for my wanting to be there, whether it was the location or the rooms. They say variety is the spice of life, but there's also the old expression, " if it ain't broke, then why fix it?"

Personally, I would suggest what was suggested to me on my 2nd trip over before I moved here. Book one hotel for half your trip, and another for the remaining half. You can feel comfortable knowing what your hotel will be like on your arrival, then you can scope out some other places while your in town and find some hidden gems.

I agree with Mr dream on this one if it aint broke why fix it and it makes sense to check out the place in person when you want to change hotels as you cant alway rely on what you read in a flyer or on the web , i alway have a look at a few places on my trips and can recomend different price range places to guys back at my work place who are thinking of going

regards Matey

As i said i like the Allseasons hotel, but one of the things i didnt like was the amount of wilde dogs roaming around out there, one even went to go for me, if it wernt for the heat, those dogs wud be killer dogs. i av stayed at serveral accor hotels around the world and av found them to be good hotels, (apart from the Ibis hotel in Patong, Phuket)

I stayed at the Mercure when it first opened about 2/3 yrs ago - a perfecly good hotel, quite family oriented.

After that I stayed many times in the hotel immediately next door, the Pattaya Bay Resort - friendly, clean, well run. Can recommend it highly.

Just booked my rooms for June/July, many thanks to Nurture of Norway for the discount code, booked rooms with hotels.co.uk and happy with the prices.

1st two nights in Bkk at the Admiral Premier on Soi 23, never been here before but 4* hotel bed and breakfast £32.50 per night.

10 nights in Mercure in Patts, superior room only £18 per night

Last 5 nights in Bkk and cos I saved so much splashed out on the Landmark, superior room only £52 per night.

Hi baz, before i booked the hotel, [MERCURE] i sent them an email asking about joiner fees, cos i read a review saying that they charge for the extra guest. They replied and said, if i book a room for 2 guests they will waive the charge. I have since saved the email and will use it if they try and charge. so if ur thinking of bring a guest back, it mite be worth you doing the seem thing. enjoy your stay there and please send me a review,

also thanks to NatureOfNorway for the codes.

Hi Tombon,

I have stayed in the Mercure 6/7 times now. I really like the place especially the pool area I think looks great.

Before you go send them an e-mail asking for a room at the rear of the hotel which overlooks the pool and gets the sun, the front overlooks the car park and road so bit noisier than rear. I also book high floor (only 6/7 floors) as at breakfast they use seating area between pool and hotel and may be busy but as I have high floor never noticed before.

The downside is if walking back from WS side sometimes have a couple of minute wait for free tuc tuc from 2nd road to hotel, which is 24hrs and to me no biggie. However since the Avenue opened its less than a minute walk to Avenue from hotel and 1 more minute to 2nd road. As you come off 2nd road towards the tuc tuc pick up opposite on the other side of the road is an open air restaurant, very basic but always busy and not bad food good value for the baht.

I saw the sign about joiner fee 3 visits ago but I always book a double and never been asked to pay, I thought maybe cos the reception staff remeber me and know they get no shit from me.

Last 2 visits noticed more of our Ruskie friends staying there, before that used to be quite popular with the Japs but now going with the commies sometimes a bit loud but never had any problems.

have a good one mate

Hey bbb, how was the Admiral Premier? Any problems with bring "guests" back to the room? I just got back from BKK and spent my time at Sacha Uno on soi 19. Great hotel but I see the Admiral Premier has larger rooms at a better price so Im looking into a stay sometime in January. Any info about The Admiral would be appreciated. :D

Uncle Al: I stayed there in Dec. It's great. I liked everything about it except the location. It's way way deep in the Soi (by Narcissus). Your cabbie will never find it. Keep their # handy when you get close. Nice restaurant, good brekkie, nice pool, & big rooms. Very friendly, even for 2 guests. wj

Sounds great. From the map, its seems the hotel is about a 1/4 mile from soi cowboy. I can live with that. Cowboy is were I party anyway. Ill give'em a try if sacha uno prices remain the same.

Al; I saw it for $41 on Hotels Combined. check out that Accor Asia Sale that just stated. You can get the Mercure Asoke Residence (formerly Sofitel) for $45. That usually goes for around a bone. By the way Al, what the fuck were you thinking with Darious Heywood-Bey ? wj
