LK Hotels problem - Updated - curiouser & curiouser

Recommended Posts

I had booked at one of the LK hotels and decided to look for less expensive accomodations.

I sent an email to the proper email address. No reply. Two days later sent another from a different email account. No reply.

I waited until the weekend and phoned them. I need to fax or email them to confirm my cancellation??????????

I emailed again from both email accounts immediately. No reply.

The man I spoke to said they had email problems last week. If my email had not gotten through, I would have gotten an email from my email providers telling me the email bounced.

I will now notify my CC company that I have cancelled and not to accept no-show charges from these people.

I think it is fair to share this. LK hotels are nice but this is part of customer service and should be pointed out.

Green Malaka, that is not an email address they have given me on websites or my email confirmation.

I will try that.

BTW, that is not what was forthcoming from the gentleman on the phone today. His matched the email confirmation.

I will let you know!

Thank you!

I could never get them to answer my e-mail to get a reservation to cancel. :cry1

I did go into LK Renaissance and checked out the rooms when I was there. The lady at the front gave me a card with her e-mail on it (I did inform her that I tried on 4 different occasions to contact them via e-mail and never received a response) but I haven't tried it yet. We'll see. :banghead

Yeah, they are pretty awful at handling their business issues. Once you're in, the rooms are nice though! I just don't know if it's worth the trouble I hear people have gone through to book them.

FWIW, we (FLB) have a discount with them, but it's not anything where we get any advantage or revenue from their bookings. I just set it up as a service for board members. If it's a pain to use, don't bother, is my advice.

Well guys, they finally responded with the following:

"We would like to inform you that, your booking was cancelled already (per my phone call, see above). And we will return your money via your credit card. But, in the refund process the bank will charge 10-15 percent from amount ."

That was not spelled out anywhere that I read before.

When I stayed at LK Metropole in February I booked through Agoda. I enjoyed my stay there.

MM is correct. They are nice hotels to stay in but....

The lesson I have learned is not to book directly through the hotel web site, even if the price is lower. Deal with a third party if you want to stay there is my suggestion.

I stay at the LKR, their website and reservations process is poor, has been and despite complaints they don"t fix it.

Rooms, service and location top notch.Hard to compete with Residence Gardens Value but LKR suites beat the Marrott.

Get a skype account, call them to confirm what you want.

I just thought I would add what is the latest.

Emails finally started pouring in after my phone call saying my reservation was indeed cancelled.

The odd thing is this, the last two emails I received was saying my credit card was not accepted. So, they did not charge my credit card when I booked but when I tried to cancel they tried to charge my credit card it seems.

Fortunately, I had notified my bank days ago.

Buyer beware!

Just stayed at the LK Royal Suites for 6 nights. The room was very nice for the price I booked through Agoda.com.

Printed out the coupon and handed it to them at check-in. Smooth sailing all the way to check-out.
