Anyone know if the charge a joiner fee?

As far as I know there is but as its jammed between soi 8 and the new shopping centre I decided not to even bother looking at it last time there. I liked the location but I think that its now a poor one because of the new centre.

I booked a night here through asiarooms on my last trip.

 

I had heard some mumblings about a possible joiners fee at this place, but didn't think it possible due to location.

 

Got to the hotel and first, they attempted to bait and switch my reservation.

 

I had booked a room, 2 pax, as is my custom when travelling alone, and they told me I would have a room with 2 small beds.

 

I told them I wanted a room with 1 bed but for 2 persons, and they tried to upsell me on a different category of room.

 

I pointed out my reservation stated I could get a room with 1 bed for 2 persons, but I was told this would not be possible at the asiarooms price. I could have a room with a big bed if I coughed up some more dough.

 

On top of that, they said that unless I could produce the second occupant on the spot, I'd be assessed a joiners each time.

 

Long story short, I got out of the reservation and ended up elsewhere. Asiarooms customer service is pretty good.

 

Big hassle. Why bother when there are so many places to stay in Pattaya that don't have any joiners?
