Hi All

Just want to get some feedback from BM about the best best guesthouse you stayed in and why you liked it? Thinking of a couple of places from Nov 11-21 2009, but haven't made up my mind on where just yet. So where have you stayed/what made it a nice place/cost/no joiner fee/location. What say you all??

I found to be the rooms above the Chow Soy Restaurant to be the best value for money in Patts, especially the large room... Liquide Lounge is alright as well but was a shabby when I stayed there compared to previous stays... but with most good guesthouses now charging up to 1k I find that the cheap Hotels like PBR and BJ Lodge provide a better product for the bath.

From the ones I've stayed at it has to be Metro Apartments.

Nice location, nice rooms, nice atmosphere, nice pool tables, nice airconditioning in the bar and nice girls.....all at a nice price!

LK Metro is a good location, in the last year I stayed in a few GHs there the best I stayed was probably The Billabong, 3som bar is good value aswell.

Also I've only heard good things about The Metro Apartments and The Irish Rovers.

Have to agree totally with LBJ and Saints

Would be unfair not to put The Rockhouse into the Mix as well (fantastic large rooms 60sqm+balcony rooms at great rates).

I have personally stayed at 3 of these places and all have fantastic owners/managers

Rovers (Pat) Rockhouse (Alex) and Billabong(Greg),Top blokes and all ready to help you out with any help and advice you request :thumbup .

Metro (dennis) havent stayed but seen rooms and all top quality, only problem is that even in quite times dennis is still running high 80s% occupancey(as of 3weeks ago). This has to speak volumes for the place, and great air con bar to spend time in.

Im sure you will find the whole LK METRO area to be a great friendly place to stay, and the most central area to use as a base in Pattaya Bar NONE :( .

BTW Irish Rovers also runs fantastic days out to Bang Chang and the Darkside each week which I believe is a must do along with any FLB Crawl organised.

Last trip 30 days(left 9th Sept :cry2 ) stayed Billabong in delux room and can highley recommend.Greg is a top host and nothing to much of a problem (even got me a kettle 4 tea in room :bow ).and has plenty organised in Bar through week.

Give LK METRO a try sure you will like it !

I know I and many others do :thumbup

Thanks for the feedback...Do the guesthouses you mention have a one way in one way out entrance were you have to go thru the bar to get your room, or is there a private entrance away from on lookers if bring back guests.

Metro has a side door that you use when the bar is closed (think you can use it when it is open, but still in the bar area).

You have to walk through the bar in the others (unless things have changed).

stayed at Irish Rovers for 20 odd days in early Jan . Great place with excellent owners Ian and Dom, if you see a bar crawl organised there are brilliant, went on one to the darkside arranged by Dom..........................fantastic

The whole Soi LK Metro is a great place for anyone wanting to set themselves up for a holiday, its close to all the action either by motorcycle taxi or baht bus plus there is so many good places in the area you dont have to go to far to find a good bar or GoGo

Cheers

At Billabong you have to go past the 24 hr reception and they will ask your lady for ID as well. ( The ID is for your protection) There is no walk of shame, the staff are really cool with the guests. More likely to be looked at when going home alone.

Cheers

Greg
