I'm flying AirAsia next week PER-KL, rhen KL-BKK and vice versa a few weeks afterwards.

So far they have changed the time on the BKK to KL flight to an extra 2 hours, which really didn't bother me as we are staying in Kl for a couple of days. The clincher was when they cancelled my KL to BKK flight and put us on a later flight, which would have mean't staying 6 1/2 hours at bloody KLL airport. Anyway I managed to change to an earlier AirAsia flight but because it was operated by Thai AA and not Malaysia AA (got me stuffed) it costs me an extra $250 AUD for two people to make the change.

Anyway next time I think I will give these guys a bloody miss and I'm saying this before I even fly with the buggers.

Can't blame you one bit.

I have used them 4 times this past year with only 1 change of schedule.I cancelled and they refunded w/i 10 days.

Well if you get unlucky and a full plane your impression wont improve , very narrow seats i'd never fly on a long haul 5+ Hours with them. Fine for zipping about SE Asia on 1-2 hour flights but no longer.

MY flight to out of KL was put back 2 hours which was no major hassle , however it does seem they have a lot of cancellations and delays.

They use different aircraft on their long-haul (AirAsiaX) and short-haul services (AirAsia). The regional routes are fine (AirAsia), as are the KL-Stansted and KL-Abu Dhabi services (AirAsia X).

I use them regularly to fly Had Yai-BKK and Alor Star-KL and find their punctuality to be pretty good.

My longest flts were Macau and Singapore.Singapore was an older 737 which was nearly empty.

Ironically, the BKK-Had Yai trip was my only problem. They changed the departure time which didn't work for me and refunded my fare as I mentioned above,in a timely manner. In fact, that was the free fare they offered (IIRC),but they still had the surcharges back then.

Got back last Wednesday, yep will be going direct with Thai next year.

Might cost more but be a bloody lot quicker and more comfty.

The passport/immigrations in KL LCT must be one of the slowest on the planet.

Yes, but every airline under the sun was cutting back on schedules and routes back at the beginning of the year - it wasn't something unique to AirAsia.
