EVA airlines...good? bad?

Recommended Posts

The times are the one thing that I DON 'T like about them. Out is fine, but the return lands too late for me to get home that night. It means an overnight train trip, which I can do without after a long flight.

It gets into LHR at 19.10hrs. There are coaches to all parts of the country at that time. :D

That is a poor time to arrive, early AM works better for those wanting to get to Manchester/ Scotland.

I would be lucky to catch the last (20.35) up to Manchester, and then likely no trains from there.

Then maybe those people would be better getting a flight from Manchester to BKK

EVA doesn't fly to Manchester.

But if you lived in Manchester, why would you go to London ? Maybe to save money, maybe to get a direct flight, but just how much would you need to save to cover the hassle, including cabs, trains, lugging your luggage around etc. when you could presumably get to Manchester relatively easy ? That is without the cost of any overnight accommodation.

Much easier on the way out but a nightmare and tiring way to come home.

Exactly. Why would anyone travel from LHR to BKK when they can get a flight from the north of England? Certainly not so that they can travel with EvaAir

To fly EVA, which is the subject of the thread.

Do they go from other European hubs?

There are NO direct flights to Bangkok from 'The North of England'..... changing at LHR should at least be as easy as changing in Amsterdam, sadly the staff at LHR and BA can't handle that!

I have just done a LHR-BKK round trip with Eva, the food outbound wasn't so good as before, no desert or fruit but a shortbread biscuit and a bit of cheese with a biscuit.

AA are now the handling agents for BR at LHR so that may be a reason.

The food on the inbound flight was fine, including fresh fruit and a yoghurt.

A sandwich was also given out between meals, the flight was a long one of 13 hours, I agree that the wine doesn't look too clever.

I have a theory that Eva don't go around giving booze out easily so the Farang pax don't get Mao mak mak :beer

No, the subject of the thread is whether Eva is good or bad. I am aware that it is not possible to get a direct flight to BKK from Manchester. But your gripe is that you cannot get back to the north of england following a 19.10 hours arrival at LHR by Eva. So maybe it would be sensible NOT to use Eva.

Have always found Eva fine on booze if you go to the back and politely ask for beer and wine ??

They do try to get the food service done asap though no doubt so that they can kip :banghead
