Fantasy Football - Final Stats

Recommended Posts

No one else has posted it yet so I may be premature (wouldn't be my first time  :-[  ), but I thought I'd chime in with some tentative results.

Steel Power  finished first with a point total of 1874.

BearDown finished second with 1845 points.

Hats off to John UK, who bested many of us Yanks with a point total of 1659, good enough for 9th place overall.

As for me (Thii-rockers), I managed to finish strong (sort of) and climb out of second-to-last-place with 1520 points, 14th out of 16 teams.  2 of my 3 highest point totals came in the last 2 weeks.  Hey, I'm just starting to get the hang of this stuff.  ;D  Thank you Brett Farve.

Yes........John UK did very good for a season total, but did accumulate a debt of 13,000 Baht for the weekly total...I assumed the USA debt of 4,000 Baht...

Money will be donated on my upcoming trip in Jan 2004, this is for the Pattaya Orphanage.  It was a fun thing to do and I hope more will participate during the 2004 season, as I will post the link and get things started for all...

Any Baseball Fans...?   There is an ESPN League that is a daily thing and requires active participation..I'd be glad to start it in March 2004..

 Through gritted teeth  >;)

Many congratulations to the eight who finished above me and to the others who finished below.  A particular thank you to Greg for organising it and for being sporting enough to put his money where my mouth was  :)

JohnUK...It was all in fun and you are a very good sport...Wished I could find a "football league" for the Europeans to enjoy....I'd not participate, but I'm sure others would enjoy it...

I've found a link if your interested in getting a league...

It was fun...  A different sort of Fantasy Football league then I was used to...  I like the head to head leagues and will start a free FLB one for us next year...  It involves drafting a team before the season starts and keeping/trading those players throughout the season.  This league was more of a salary cap league...  Very different but both are very fun...  Anyways, congrats to the big winners...  SteelPower and the kids... and to Greg for starting this up...  I will definately play next year.

And John, looks like you bested me 9 out of the 17 individual weeks so I owe you a beer...  But I did beat you in the final talley so what the heck!!  Give me a heads up when you will next be in town and we can have a couple together...

Cheers

Joop....Yes, by all means lets get 2 leagues going next year.  One with a draft would be very fun also...I know Yahoo has leagues like that {free} and I'd be joining any league you want to start..

Your doing very good in that College Football Mania League, but there are many games to go...

I'll be in town in late Jan 2004 and would enjoy meeting you and the family.  I need some of your valuable advice on the TG's , as mine is wanting to do what your and the wife just did a couple of months ago...

Would enjoy taking you and the family out for a dinner/drinks and getting some valuable input. If your going to be around Jan 24 to Feb 15, 2004, I can give you a cellphone number to get in contact...?

Just went to the Holiday Bowl here in last night and enjoyed watching the Cougars bet up on Old Texas!!   :)  I have been pretty lucky with my Bowl Picks so far...  I already do a free Yahoo league with my coworkers, I will just set up two next year and see who wants to play...

I am expecting to be in Asia(Japan/Korea) mid January, which would probably put me in Thailand sometime during your stay, would enjoy hooking up for a few beers.

Cheers

Joop
