Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

The Marriott seems like it is close to all the action (actually walking distance to Walking Street). Some of the more recent reviews indicate that it allows visitors without any cost.

If you could stay at the Marriott with "points" would you do it? Or should I look for cheaper locations (even if it means taking a bus or cab)?

I'm a newbie who is looking to visit later this year and need the help of seasoned veterans.

Thanks!!!

I have stayed at the Marriott on several occasions (once using points). It is in a great location and I have never had any issues with bringing girls back (even two at a time). If you can stay there at no cost with points, I don't know why you would want to look elsewhere. Just be careful that the girls don't hit the mini-bar as it is obscenely expensive (I was charged 160 baht for a bottle of water).

I agree with the previous poster, if you can stay there on points I wouldn't even bother looking anywhere else. They have the best fitness club in Pattaya along with a great pool and the breakfast buffet is awesome. No problem with the ladies and you won't be disappointed.

I have only spent 2 nights there and it is very nice and a great location but I can't imagine using my points for the stay, unless you're not planning on using them elsewhere. My point is with so many affordable places in Patts, why waste Marriott points there.I have quite a few points with them and never considered using,or I consider wasting them,in Patts.I will use Vegas as an example. How much time do you actually spend in the room or loom in Patts?

The security desk by the elevator usually has quite a few Thai girl id card's on top. You get a snappy salute from the guard as you return with your girl.

I wouldn't stay again since i prefer the Soi Diana area but had no complaints at all.

Still ended up taking a BB to Walking Street.

They did call ahead to the Marriott Waterside in BKK to make sure my TG would be welcomed there. You might want to consider using points in Bangkok where the hotels are more expensive. But if you have a lot af points to burn-good choice.

No issues, great pool but pricey. Now I know you don't have to buy their stuff but why bother stay there if you cannot have a few beers around the pool bar ? Bt200/300 after ++ taxes will be about right for a tin or draft of beer (no glass due to the pool). Usual Marriott pool happy hour from 4pm to 6pm is probably still on which lessens the pain (2 4 1). If you can get a rate which includes breakfast then great as it will hit you up around Bt650++ a day per person. You don't have to have it, but it is great if you can wangle it for less than the daily cost.

Rooms high quality but rather small. Comfortable beds. I think the wing to the right of the pool is better, perhaps newer. Quite typical SE Asia Marriott and if you like Marriott, then you'll like it.
