  1. Its right next to the entrance to the Marriot on 2nd Road. Tried it once years ago and was disappointed. Never been back since, but maybe I will give it another try.
  2. I had this happen to me in July. When I checked in at ANA, they only had me booked through to NRT. I had to show them a paper copy of my itinerary to get them to check my bag all the way to my destination. They could not issue me the tickets however, and I had to get boarding passes to my destination at NRT. Hopefully they have gotten this sorted out. I am flying with them again next month.
  3. I just ended my stay there yesterday and the construction was going on everyday usually until around 8pm. I had a room in the back as they are usually the quiet ones, but the construction was quite loud some afternoons.
  4. The best place that I have found is New York Pizza on 3rd Road. http://www.nypizzahouse.com/
  5. As stated above, if you get the deluxe room at the LK Renaissance, it has a walk-in shower separate from the jacuzzi tub. The deluxe room is a little more costly, but I have to have a shower.
  6. I have seen many movies that were made in Pattaya but they generally are not the type that Universal Studios makes. The "production facillities" are usually just a hotel room, so it should not take three years to set up.
  7. Not Pattaya related, but it fits in with the thread. © Cyan FilmsIranian actress sentenced to 90 lashes, 1 year in jail Oct. 11, 2011, 8:15 PM EST By Joshua L. Weinstein TheWrap An Iranian actress has been sentenced to 90 lashes and a year in jail for starring in an Australian movie with a shaved head -- and no head-covering. Marzieh Vafamehr, who appeared in "My Tehran for Sale," has appealed the sentence. According to Amnesty International, Vafamehr also appears to drink alcohol in the movie. Consuming alcohol is banned under Iranian law. The penalty is 80 lashes -- for the first offense. Bing: 'My Tehran for Sale' trailer The Australian movie, oddly enough, is about an actress in Iran who is forced to live a secret life in order to express herself. In a written statement to TheWrap, producers Julie Ryan and Kate Croser said Tuesday that the actress's involvement in the film "was limited to her role as an actress and she was not in any other way involved in the behind-the-scenes filmmaking." "As producers of the film 'My Tehran for Sale' we would like to express our deep shock and sadness at the sentence imposed by the Iranian government," they wrote. Richard Harris, CEO of the South Australian Film Corp., wrote, "We are deeply disturbed by Marzieh Vafamehr's sentence for appearing in Granaz Moussavi's groundbreaking film, which is itself about the risks that artists are prepared to take for creative expression. Amnesty International on Tuesday criticized the sentence -- and flogging in general. "If Vafamehr is held solely on account of the peaceful exercise of her ight to freedom of expression, she should be released immediately and unconditionally," the human rights organization said in a written statement. Vafamehr's sentence is only the most recent example of the Iranian regime's ongoing crackdown on the entertainment industry. On Sept. 17, Iran arrested five documentary directors and a producer and distributor. Among them was Mojtaba Mirtahmasb, who was detained at the Tehran airport as he prepared to go to the Toronto Film Festival. And in December 2010, director Jafar Panahi was arrested. He has been sentenced to six years in prison and was banned from filmmaking and from speaking with the foreign press for 20 years.
  8. I would use it for the arrival trip. Going back I am always bordering on exhaustion and I am out cold as soon as I hit the seat regardless of the class. My return flights to the US are always between 6am - 8am. This means that I usually have to leave Patts around 3-4am after a night out drinking and a final ST. On my way to Patts, I am always too wired to sleep much and would get more benefit from the better seat.
  9. I saw Nolan Ryan throw his seventh no-hitter.
  10. Guys constantly sticking a sign in front of my face and saying "ping-pong show".
  11. I enjoy the videos that you have created yourself with pictures from the BG or around Patts. They are usually set to good music and I would like to see more of them.
  12. Delta sucks for international award tickets. You will have a hard time finding an award ticket for the lesser miles.
  13. I have stayed at the Marriott on several occasions (once using points). It is in a great location and I have never had any issues with bringing girls back (even two at a time). If you can stay there at no cost with points, I don't know why you would want to look elsewhere. Just be careful that the girls don't hit the mini-bar as it is obscenely expensive (I was charged 160 baht for a bottle of water).
  14. The more expensive room has a walk in shower in the bathroom. The cheaper one has a tub with a spray wand that you have to hold in your hand. I think that is the only difference.
  15. Sounds like a great place to me. I like to do any early evening/late afternoon ST and then take a short nap before going out. I didn't really like the Coconut Bar scene. This looks like it is just what I was looking for. See you in June.
