well that's a drag! glad they did not change your outbound date.

Where do you fly from (home port)? Do they frequently have problems filling planes?

You might try calling customer service. They may be willing to fly you after your original date rather than before.

I had a flight booked from LHR-BKK with Netflights for dep 12th May and return 10th June. About a week before flying out, had a call from a nice lady at Nightflights. She said sorry, but Eva have cancelled your return flight on the 10th June. She seemed surprised and quite happy when i said no problem, i'll fly back on the 11th June. Extra day in LOS, and just kept me on the 30 day visa excempt limit. On the flight out with Eva on the 12th May, everyone in the rear part of economy had 3 seats to themselves and we all made a nice little bed to sleep the flight away. Luckily i was in the fortunate position of being very flexible with my dates. For those not in such a happy position, i can imagine it can be a real pain having your flight cancelled at the last minute.

Ring Ebookers and tell them to change your return to the day after the original date.

That way one more extra day in LOS

would have loved to extend, but am knackered by being on the limit for an 'on arrival visa' and by having to be back at work. :D

This is happening quite a bit at the moment. No Tues or Thurs flights in June, no Wed flighs in July, flights also cancelled in August. Not sure why this is, although the 2 main reasons being talked about are flights only half full, so a costcutting measure, or because EVA have a lack of planes at the moment due to a big upsurge in China-Taipei route which they need planes for, and a hold-up cos of a seating issue in new planes being delivered.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't had more interest, as i know EVA are quite popular. I always use them, but will think twice if this is anything more than temporary...

Planes flying half full? The ticket costs are almost double what they were 3 years ago. Lower the costs and more passengers would fly.

Not from London they're not. I'm (hoping) to fly end of Oct, booked already for £454 Return, which is pretty much the same as i got 3 or 4 years ago. Also, my last 2 flights have been £430 and £419 (my cheapest ever direct flight) on Nov of last year, and April this year.

Seems they flights are only cancelled untill August, so far.....

Nothing changed but the times of flights for Amsterdam as far as I know. They still fly 3 times a week from here and have been doing so for years. Flying with Eva myself in 3 weeks. Fucking expensive at a 1000 euro but at least they go direct

The in flight entertainment is terrible though. I just got back from South Africa and flew with Emirates via Dubai. They had so many movies and series its great. Kept me entertained for the entire trip when I wasnt sleeping which is not something I can say about Eva.

Yea, the food's not great either, but each to their own, it doesn't really bother me. I get onboard, read a bit get the first meal, then read a bit more, drop 2 sleepers, and as if by magic i'm arriving at Krung Thep. The price with EVA for a direct flight is sound for me.

427 quid is well cheap !!

Paid 410 once 14 years ago on Eva but that was when the taxes etc was only 20 quid.

They must be hurting in the pocket ??

Irish

Well spotted, knowing Eva the web site promotion is probably a year old, I'll try and give them a call tomorrow to see what the score is.
