I'm looking at flights for next April - yes, I know it's early, I have to sort dates at work early or maybe lose them.

So far the cheapest I can see with acceptable times at both ends and reasonable changeovers are Jet @ £575

I've never used them, after a bad experience with Biman about 10 years back I swore off that whole sub-continent, but I'm considering them now.

Any opinions from those who have actually flown with them would be appreciated. If you haven't used them, please don't reply, thanks.

Overall, not a bad airline, especially for an Indian carrier. The equipment they are using is quite modern and they have expanded rapidly over the past few years despite feeling the financial pinch somewhat. They are certainly a good carrier when it comes to service standards. I flew on one of their 777's a year ago, admitidly in business class, but on that flight, they could not be faulted except just a tadge too many Hindi movies for my liking...LOL, but flat beds and big screen viewing with comfortable headphones. Nice selection of booze and good food. They are definately lightyears ahead of Biman. So IMOH if the price is right, give them a try. :D

I know the middle link is about Kingfisher but the main problem is Mumbai airport and this link will also give you some ideas about it. I talked with my friend who flew with Jet Air from LHR and said never again. When I asked him about specifics it turned out all his complains were about the airport and not Jet Air it self.

London-Mumbai, very good seating. Mumbai-Bangkok not so good but not bad (the same as for me Keflavik-London) but shorter flight time. The main thing is the airport and the lack of proper procedure there. I would fly with them again if the price was right but they would have to be much cheaper than Etihad ( my airline of choice ) for that. If you go with the knowlidge that the transfer will be slow and chaotic and are in the right mood for that, it should be ok.

P.s. They overbooked the plane from Bangkok so I did not get my pre-orderd seats through Lastminint. When I complained she just said that it was not ordered through the airline so not their problem.

Thanks, I did search the forum for Jet, but didn't think to try Mumbai as well.

The reviews on airlinequality (I have them bookmarked but forgot about them :allright ) seem to have a common theme; planes OK, ground staff not and Mumbai very not.

That'll be a NO then. I'd put up with the sort of things mentioned for a really cheap flight, but this one isn't.

Thanks again.
