Displayed prices are for multiple nights. Check the site for price per night. I see hostels starting at 200b/day and hotels from 500b/day on agoda.

Stayed there for a few nights last new years (everywhere else fully booked), They are basic but adequate rooms, has air-con, cable tv etc, however was only staying there out of necessity not choice. Think i payed 5-600 baht per night, Joy the daytime manager is a sound girl, happy to take care of laundry / ironing etc if you are in a rush or disorganised like me.

IMHO the guesthouse needs sprucing up a bit (bar area very tatty), but really no serious issues that would curtail your fun. The apartments are directly facing Rockhouse.

Hope this helps

They could do with more double glazing over there, sound wise.

No in-room safes as of January, just security boxes at reception. When i was there, sometimes the motor sai taxi drivers were filling in for the manager Joy, as the bar area was sometimes unstaffed. Those guys never seem to sleep so i don't think a major problem gaining access to your room.

Cheers

I found LK Metro very noisy, small soi and the sound really bounces around. I wouldn't stay on the soi again. Just my 2 satang.

Ditto

Great these forums, keep us from making a mistake, with luck.

After years of visits, I prefer the Soi LK Metro area, as their are many small hotels to choose from.

Sure the noise level is a bit louder, but you don't have to keep getting a Baht Bus or motorbike to get something to eat.

I don't want to be stuck at a hotel, with only their menu to choose from.

Soi LK Metro has many good places to eat, BJ bars, Devils Den and many reasonably priced bars to drink at.

You can't compare the quality, it isn't a 4 Star area, but for what you pay at others places (1 night), you could stay there for 3-4 days

Isn't that what you want, a good place, nice bed, Wi-Fi and AC...?

A barfine really doesn't care where she sleeps or what you paid for the room

I've stayed on LK Metro at least 4 times that I can remember.

Good value rooms for the money, good food, entertainment, laundry, massage all within walking distance.

Never been bothered by noise of any kind but I don't normally try to sleep until the bars are closed.

the taxi drivers filling in as staff put me right off!

WTF... is that all about.

That would put me right off staying at ANY hotel, i don't trust m/c taxi men at all...

Everyone has their own opinion regarding Soi LKmetro and it's guesthouses, as it should be. One thing to remember though is many have ulterior motives for running it down without ever having been there. I have a lot of experience there and have stayed at 3 places over the years and regard it as full of excellent rooms at a very cheap price, especially now as the whole town is dead.

I recall you stayed at BJ Lodge last trip, I like many others would never pay their prices that far away from the action but if peace and quiet is your forte then go for it.

This forum I agree is great and full of good reliable info but you cannot write off a complete area, full of value without at least experiencing it and checking it's attributes first for yourself .

5 mins on Baht bus seems ok to me,to Central etc.

I am not a walking street person.

I didn't like not having net in room at Bj's,apart from that was good for me.
