Royal Jordanian stop over in Amman

Recommended Posts

Royal Jordanian no longer provide a free of charge hotel room for the stop over in Amman on the return leg from BKK to LHR.

Dispite this I find £477 in Feb good value and with the arrival/departure times Bells bus can be used to and from swampy.

Are you considering lazing around all night in the airport?

At £477 it would only be a good deal if transport and hotel were included, it could be £50+ for a room.

More like 100 Pounds in the airport hotel there, i fly from Amman to Bangkok 3 or 4 times a year ( working in North Saudi) and will not stay in the airport hotel, i use a small hotel about 15 mins from the airport, less than 30 pounds and very friendly. I can also leave my car there free of charge.

Flight gets in at 5.15 am, flight to heathrow takes off at 11.15 am so it will be a sleep/drink/eat/wander in the airport.

Anyone know if the bar is open all night?

I did KSA for a good while. all over the Kingdom.

I hope the money is good!

I always travelled back to HQ in Dammam prior to R&R, the office kept our passports when in the kingdom.

Same here they keep my passport, but i have a multi exit / reentry visa so can just pick it up on a wed and

have a weekend away if i want, money is not to bad just over 55,000 UK sterling (Tax Free), free apartment and 3 free flight a year

and 9 weeks paid vacation, been here this time for 8 years and did 9 years in Riyadh in the 80's - 90's.

Also have an termination bonus of 1/12 of total annual pay for every year completed so if i left now would get about 36,000 lump sum.

Good vacation schedule you have, I had 3/year but fewer total days (55+local holidays).

The End-of-service payment is of course standard under Saudi labour law, and my departure from the Kingdom gave me a big cheque.

My last posting was Riyadh, I hated the place!

Yes.

It was 7 hrs on my last trip which was the gap they provide a hotel for. Looks like they've moved the schedule flight times a hour to save on hotel bills
