EVA changing return date

Recommended Posts

Brought a non-change ticket in the UK with EVA but hoping to change my return date once I get out to Thailand. Used to be quite easy in years gone past, don't mind if there is a charge. Anybody done this with EVA lately?

I had to do it in January. It cost me £75, but I think about £25 of that might have been a (posssibly rather high) charge made by a travel agent in Pattaya.

I think you'll find that if its a 'non change' ticket, thats exactly what it means.

Check the ticket as it usually states the terms and conditions of issue

They used to just charge 100-200 baht for the service.

Generally you just phone the local office of the airline yourself, and ask for English, and do it yourself, but having a charge to pay makes that harder.

Quote taken from EVA Air's Fare rules for restricted tickets. So £75 is correct .

"PE.PENALTIES

CANCELLATIONS

BEFORE DEPARTURE

CHARGE GBP 150.00.

INBOUND -

CHANGES

AFTER DEPARTURE

CHARGE GBP 75.00 FOR REVALIDATION"

I did this last year thru a travel agent who charged me a small fee. The £75 was paid at the EVA AIR check in at

Suvarnabhumi.

Thanks N3RGT for clarifying that. It has prompted me to better remember.

A travel agent arranged it for me and charged a fee. I don't remember how much but thought it was high. However, it was vital that I got back and was just pleased she had managed to sort it out.

I had to pay £75 to EVA at the airport. It was far from clear exactly how I should do that. Eventually, I determined that it had to be done at the furthest desk on the right as you face the check-in desks.

I think £75 is not unreasonable in the circumstances. However, whether you get what you want is obviously down to seat availability.

Bazle, Yes I remember having to change queues and going to the desk on the right where they relieved me of £75.

As you said though, it's not too bad considering, as mine was due to a family emergency, and I had to "pull the stops out" !

Why don't you just buy a "open return" ticket. On the web site there is a box to check for this sort of ticket.
Price?
