8 years ago I could get a girl long time for 1000 baht. Paid the same last month.

 

Prices of many things have gone up a bit, and the exchange rate has gotten worse, but now I'm smarter about spending my money. It all balances out.

 

One thing that hasn't changed - I always have a great time in Pattaya.

Siam started off as a poor country and over the years foreign investment has flown into the country to take advantage of the low manpower cost. Manufacturing and agriculture are contributing to strong exports. Therefore poverty has decreased and the quality of life style has gone up. It will be very easy for a Thai girl to get a job away from the bars as compared to her parents' generation...

 

Also the population of Thailand is going down (Fertility rate of 1.9 - Source - The Economist, as compared to a sustaintence rate of 2.1) and people are having fewer and fewer children. Today I only know ONE TG who has three children...

 

In this overall scenario I see the economy growing strongly inspite of the political uncertainty and logically therefore, I predict that it will get more and more expensive for especially people from Europe and North America to have the same level of entertainment that is currently possible. It's not a matter of if, but when. I would give it 8 to 12 years... There will be restricitons and P4P will keep getting more and more difficult.More bars will be demolished to make way for shopping malls and condos... I just need to compare in my mind the Pattaya of 1996 when I first visited and today's Pattaya. Thai women too will become more demanding and there will be a day when their outlook will be similar to their sisters in the west...

Personally for me, it has not changed much but I tend to watch the expenses more carefully when I am in Patts these days. Gone are the days when I would blow upwards of 10000B on one evening... Those were unnecessary splurges... A 3000B spend would give me a similar level of satisfaction...

Unfortunately the best days are gone. Yes, it was better 6 or 7 years ago. The exchange rates have made things much more expensive but I think maybe the main problem is that the quality of the whore-mongers has gone WAY down. Due to the scammers, beggars and general low life farangs, the girls have gotten harder and more mercenary. In the good old days the "HOW MUCH" question was rarely asked. The girls trusted that you would pay a reasonable price and that they would be rewarded for a better performance than was expected. The GFE was normal rather than the exception.

 

Pretty well sums it up in a nutshell. the whole dynamic has changed and not for the better.

So in way, there a real some dick heads, who are happy with Pattaya. But once you’ve been around you just don’t tolerate all the BS these girls talk and the crappy service.

I would have to say. it has gone from The Benny hill Show, to some sort of, in your face, Reality TV show, like Cops with Cameras.

Last day was 02nd of November - this November. Was in FLB Halloween night for a quick one. Si calls it the cold bar-still !

Paid 100bht for 1kg of Mankutt near Mikes. They were the same price all along the market. No competition.

 

I used to enjoy sitting in Palmers watching the girls tempting punters into The Go- Go's Bubbles, Emergency, Classroom, Girls... They did it with a smile, a laugh and some banter..... That is what I mean by the Benny hill bit. It seems to have disappeared.

In my opinion what has changed Pattaya for the worst more than anything else is the proliferation of farang owned bars.

It is next to impossible to have a GFE experience with a hot 19 year old these days without her expecting you to buy a new wardrobe and a mobile phone.

I tried the LT GFE with a hot 19 year old for the last few days but she startef looking at phones in Tukcom so I had to let her go.

It is better now than one year ago because there are less customers so it's easy to get a hottie for 1000 or less.

The golden era of 10 years ago is gone forever but if you like ST uncomplicated sex then Pattaya is better than ever.

It seems like there are more pretty girls eager for custom perhaps due to less people being stupid enough to sponsor during the depression.

Overall I still say it is a great place to be.

I think it's a great deal and I love the place but I am a newbie. I am young only 24 but I have tons of experience with the asian escorts here in Toronto.

When i see what i get for my vacation money in thailand and compare with other mongering countries it seems thailand comes out on top. BUT i do have the luxury of using company airmiles for my flights. Then there's the fact that I rarely drink and yes i got heckled all time for ordering water so i have a lot more to spend on the girls because my check bins are pretty low. I don't know what figures you're using but 10 years ago 100 quid would have bought you 6,200 Baht. To buy the same 6,200 Baht today would cost 132 quid and that doesn't take into account the 30%+ compounded increase in the cost of living in Thailand over the same period. That means you'd have to buy around 8,200 Baht to account for the increase in the cost of living - i.e. it would cost you almost 175 quid to buy the same as you did 10 years ago.

I suppose it all depends where you come from. In 2001 I was getting around 21 THB for one Aussie $. For the last few months it has fluctuated between THB 27 and

29+ THB per Aussie $. When the exchange rate seems right to me, I normally convert Aussie $ to THB by TT transfer from my Australian Credit Union. This has worked exceedingly well for me for a long time. Living in Thailand is cheaper for me now than it was ten years ago. I feel sorry for the Euro and British pound guys and the Americans as well
