Are you sure this is a return price. Just put in similar details and £297 is the one way price. Return price is £497. In addition with airlines like Air asia you will need to add on charges for checked baggage plus any meals and drinks, which you are likely to need on a 12 hour flight.

Also, unless you live near Stansted it is a pain in the arse to get to by public transport.

I looked at this option at Christmas because of the high price of flights from Manchester at the time. However, when adding on all the extra costs, including travelling to Stansted I wasn't going to save much and would be adding on a lot of extra travelling time.

Not quite true. Stanstead has its own station and is easly reached from London and the Midlands

The flight from KL gets into Stansted at about 10 pm. Who wants to start messing about with transfers at midnight. You would have to get a local hotel which adds another 70 GBP to the cost.

Or. alternatively, you could choose to arrive early a.m. and save yourself 70 quid. :whistling:

It maybe easy to get to for you from the East Midlands if you can get to Stansted directly, but anyone coming from the western half of the country is likely to have to catch a train into London, get across London to Liverpool Street and then get the Stansted Express back out to the airport.

Has any board member flown on Air Asia X? I wondered what the seats/ entertainment was like and how much you have to pay for food and drink etc.

I had to laugh at the new Walliams Lucas airline programme about FlyLo, they have lie flat beds but they are upright

The greasy owner even makes you swipe your credit card to release the life jacket if the aircraft ditches in the sea.
