Anyone Ever Use Two Hotels? Privacy, Convenience Etc.?

Recommended Posts

I am staying at RG for my two weeks, and I don't mind where it is as I do like peace and quiet and I figure LT can help me get there the first few times, baht bus, etc. and the staff can help get me out the first time.

But for daytime or ST I am thinking a in town hotel might not be a terrible idea. Has anyone tried this and if so has the management ever wondered why there is no sign of life, e.g. clothes etc., while the bed looks slept in?

My first trip to the Dominican Republic was at an all inclusive and not guest friendly so I got a room in town (cheap, IIRC) for dalliances and because I can speak and write Spanish I left a note back at the original place that I wasn't kidnapped or anything just out a lot and not to panic , plus I would go back for food and clothes daily.

This is like that in reverse. Any ideas where? :angry2: I found a place Sawasdee Sabai on Soi 10 that is US$13 a day, so THB400. No idea how good it is or guest policy.

In a word, its a dive, but for 400bt and all your going to do in it, its worth it. but then again if its only for short time, theres always soi 6!

I found a few others, more than I thought there would be. Short time rooms or love hotels would likely cost as much or more depending on the number of times used. I shall research more.

Stefan Guest House or Ice Inn or New Star. I know some might be pretty utilitarian but location might be worth it.

I don't have to worry about security since there won't be anything to steal, maybe soap if they include it.

I wouldn't take an other hotel for ST or daytime, easy to get your load of on ST rooms. (in soi 6 ST room price is included on BF)

RG is never a hassle with BF's you bring in. When you learn how to get there easily, it's no biggie.

Sawasdee Seaview is on soi 10 The cheap rooms are very rough, and aimed at Thai's, the better rooms 1400 Baht are nice. If you are looking for something central to use as a short time room, The honey lodge is on Pattaya Thai can be walked to from walking street, has parking, air-con and a pool. A nice hotel for the money. My only bitch was that the doors and locks were not commercial grade, and could be easily broken into. I didn't like leaving my computer and camera in the room.

There is also a couple of very cheap hotels that the freelancers and lady boys use for short time rooms, a room for the night is as cheap as a short time room. They will rent the room for the night, and then use it several times. There are long stay guests as well. Go to P72 hotel on walking street, there is a small soi next to it, only big enough for motorbikes and walking. Walk towards 2nd road and you will see them.

I used the P76 as a hideaway when I had a regular girl in my room at the RG. Very handy to WS.

I also spent a night in the ST hotel next to Tim Bar Beer when the Haven stuffed up my reservation in high season. Took two ST's back there during the evening, they had no problem with it.

You'll probably find any girl who's been in town more than a week will know a cheap clean ST room close to her work.

In Phuket for me it worked out cheaper and more convenient to do exactly what you suggest. Depending on the siting of your main hotel a little bolt-hole off WS is a great idea.

There are motels throughout Pattaya. The nicer ones charge about 350 baht for 3 hours, something you might want to consider if you don't want to stay in a dive and only want it for a S/T a few times a week.

Having spent years in Central America with two GF's over 7 years while having ( at least) two girls on the side I know these places well - they are called autohotels since you drive in front of the door and they shut a curtain behind the car. I used them because my hotel there frowned upon a flock of side poontang and you never knew who would blab to my girlfriend (think maids). Autohotels were around $20 US for three hours. And overnight after 12 midnight other than weekends.

I am not opposed to the idea but twice in a day I could have a room for 24 hours. And no worry about valuables since I won't have any.

But my budget may = dive, I see the point. Maybe start with ST rooms and then I will see.

Is check in at a ST hotel anonymous or do they want ID etc., as well?

I know the BB route from there is pretty straightforward onto 2nd street and then get off at a Soi and walk to the beach road but from say FLB how DO you get back to RG?

Don't know as I've never used one, have only seen them throughtout Pattaya when I'm out walking getting in some exercise. If your interested you could post a topic on these fine establishments.

Getting back to the RG from FLB, the easiest way to explain would be to take that walkway that goes past Goodfellas and Blues Factory toward the Marine Plaza Hotel and jump on the first baht bus heading south.

If you're worried about all the travel between RG and your ST's, then consider renting a motobike. Don't have to worry about baht bus taxis. I personally found RG to be a little out there, although it is close to Walking ST. It's a nice hotel, and good value for the money. But it does depend on what you like to do and where you like to go. I stayed at View Talay 6 recently and loved the location. Beach Rd, 2nd Road, Pattaya Klang all right there to get me anywhere fast on a motobike.
