Half the time I open a thread on this forum I get the Mac spinning wheel followed by a box that says Slow Script and this:

Safari is no longer responding because of a script on the webpage “Barrio Barretto Girl - Pattaya Talk Forum” (http://www.pattayatalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54199&st=0&gopid=877896entry877896). Do you want to stop running the script, or let it continue?

It is completely frustrating. Is there a setting I can change to avoid this? It seems to happen most on Talk, less on other boards and not at all on some.

I am completely techno-challenged so any advice from BMs would be gratefully received.

I use Safari and used Safari on my prior MacBook Pro. On my old computer, I found a fix. Now that I have a new computer, I don't remember how I fixed the problem last time. I'm too lazy to look it up. Of course, if people wouldn't post huge picture files, there wouldn't be a problem.

It does seem to be hanging a bit for me this AM (Firefox) and last night my internet was very slow.

I was wondering if some of the Japanese cable damage was affecting internet traffic?

If it happens only on threads where there are linked photos it is probably something to do with your cookie settings.

On your top menu bar, go to Safari/Preferences/Security and check that your cookies are enabled. Quit Safari (not just close) and relaunch.

I think it has to do with the script that resizes photos. After a while, Safari gives up and we get a "slow script" message.

Thanks, Tom. I followed your advice and cookies were disabled for third parties in my settings. I've now set them to always open. Just checked a thread where I'd had the problem and all the photos open easily. I hope it continues to work well. Thanks for the advice.
