It sounds as if the GF's mother has thyroid cancer. Her appointment with the quack at the nearest big hospital in the boondocks was postponed today for 8 days.

She needs urgent attention. If the GF, who lives in Patts, were to get her mother to Patts, is there a good hospital in the locality at which mother would get the treatment she needs?

Thanks to anyone who is able to post something useful.

"Treatment" means surgery, probably?

Far better is to get her to the Bangkok Hospital. They are cancer people. Their Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital (internal to the main hospital) is as good as it gets.

Bangkok Hospital is at Soi Soonvijai 7, New Petchaburi Road in Bangkok. Geographically, that is approximately across New Petchaburi from Soi 55 Sukhumvit, but any taxi driver knows Bangkok Hospital

(02) 310-3000.

Good luck.

Thanks, Joe.
If it really must be Pattaya, of course the Bangkok Pattaya hospital is well equipped and I have heard of other cancers being well treated there.

Yes, your first six words being the key. If it's possible, try to avoid Pattaya for cancer consultation/treatment, but Bangkok Pattaya is a good (expensive) hospital without doubt. Personally, I'd go to a lot of trouble and pain to move somewhere out of Pattaya, probably (but not necessarily) Bangkok for my hypothetical cancer. If I HAD to go in, in Pattaya, it'd be BPH for sure.
