BLACK CAVIAR Wins Again

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Who will train him in England ? Maybe go to O'Brien in Ireland ?

He is only going for the one race the Queen Anne over 1600m.

He is a nice horse, he is no So you think and no Black Caviar but he is arguably our best middle distance horse at the moment.

Being a half brother to Black Caviar he is already worth a fortune but a win at Ascot would probably see his value go up by another $10 million

ROYAL Ascot wanted Black Caviar - but they will happily take All Too Hard instead.

Black Caviar's retirement from racing means she won't be thrilling English race fans again but there is every likelihood her younger brother All Too Hard will be given an opportunity to conquer the world after his All Aged Stakes win at Royal Randwick last Saturday.

Hall of Famer John Hawkes, who trains All Too Hard in partnership with his sons Wayne and Michael, has revealed a decision on whether the super colt races in England will be made this week.

"We will sort out in the next few days if All Too Hard is kept in training for Royal Ascot or is retired," Hawkes said.

"We will do what is in the best interests of the horse.

"If it has to finish after Saturday, then it has been a great ride and the perfect way for the horse to go out.

"If the decision is made to go to England, that will be fantastic, too."

All Too Hard scored his fourth Group 1 win of the season - and his third against older horses - when he mowed down a gallant Rain Affair to win the All Aged Stakes.

Horse of the Year honours now rest between Black Caviar and All Too Hard - and if the colt does race on and win in England it might be enough to secure Australian racing's ultimate honour as he has already won more majors this season than his famous older sibling.

Hawkes said the race being considered for All Too Hard is the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes (1600m) at Royal Ascot on June 18.

Black Caviar won the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Ascot last year. Hawkes said he hoped All Too Hard would race on for another 12 months as the colt was just realising his full potential but commercial reality dictated the young champ would soon be retired to stud.

"It is a little disappointing for racing in general that Pierro and All Too Hard didn't race on next season,' Hawkes said.

"I know All Too Hard would have gone up another notch again, particularly when he gets to 16000m and 2000m.

"But people pay a lot of money to buy stallion prospects like Pierro and All Too Hard and naturally they are trying to recoup their outlay."

Hi,

Maybe Coolmore would be interested in him as a stallion ?

Pinevalley just paid $25million for him Gerry Harvey etc from Nathan (who did see his bankruptcy coming a mile away) Tinkler, so i doubt they will be selling anytime soon, more likely try and win a G1 in the UK and with the

Black Caviar link maybe shuttle him to a stud like Coolmore for the Northern Season.

I dont know how the middle distance stacks up, Starcraft won a GR1 however he was a really nice Horse and I know Haradasun (won a GR1 as well although it was a typical 6-7 horse field ,Coolmore had 5 of them and all four where pacemakers so their 20 million purchase could claim a GR1)

And Obviously So you think won a couple before Coolmore turned him from a Horse with a lethal turn of foot into a one paced plodder

All too hard is about Starcrafts ability although ATH is on the up , much better than Haradasun and nowhere near as good as So you think

Hi,

Coolmore buy another Aussie star.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/horseracing/10034462/Coolmore-push-out-the-boat-by-paying-27million-for-top-Australian-sprinter-Pierro.html

Coolmore have taken the adventurous step of splashing out big money for one of Australia’s best young stallion prospects, Pierro, who was recently retired, having won Sydney's two-year-old Triple Crown, and 10 of his 13 starts, including the six-furlong Golden Slipper.

What’s big money Down Under these days? Well, insurance sources claim the price tag for Pierro was just short of Aus$40million

.

The significance of Coolmore’s bold move is that it is one more vote of confidence in Australian bloodstock from the Irish stud following the success of Fastnet Rock – shuttling between the northern and southern hemispheres will be obligatory – and it provides a new bloodline among the abundance of mares by Danehill.

Pierro is by Lonhro, who is currently shuttling between America and Australia for rivals Darley, and came as part of the package when the Ingham family sold Woodlands Stud to Sheikh Mohammed.

All Too Hard and Pierro where the 2 boom colts of their season, Pierro was definatley the better Juvenile and better in Sydney (Clockwise Racing) All too hard was better over a bit more distance and beat Pierro 3 times in Melbourne (anti Clockwise)

I think head to head its about 3 all

If they where to race Tomorrow at 1600m+ id back ATH and

AT 40 Million and 25 MIll i think ATH is the better buy (being Black caviars little brother), although with Coolmores army of topshelf broodmares Pierro is virtually guaranteed of being asuccess

Hi,

I'd say they are trying to breed some sprinters as the Aussie ones seem to be much better than the European sprinters at the moment.

Actually you poms could do worse than come over here and buy some sprinters just to race in everyday races. Tons of average sprinters here can be had for 10 or 20k.

All Too Hard has been retired......so no trip to Royal Ascot.

Hi,

Ta, Just got the news here as well.

http://www.attheraces.com/article.aspx?hlid=534600&lid=&raceid=&title=All+Too+Hard+retired&ref=PA+Racing+Feed&nav=home050513&sub=&day=Sun

Australian champion All Too Hard has been retired, hot on the heels of his half-sister Black Caviar.

A winner of four Group Ones in his last five starts, connections had mooted a crack at the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, but his owners (Vinery Stud, Kia-Ora Stud et al) have decided he is worth too much as a stallion prospect to risk any damage.

"We thought long and hard about it, but the horse has got nothing left to prove," Vinery Stud's Peter Orton told The Daily Telegraph.

"He's the best three-year-old in the country, and the best of a very good lot. His ratings are up there with the best.

"There were two options - retire him or race another year. But this horse is a pretty important part of going forward for us as a stallion prospect, and there's so much more (that awaits) as a stallion.

"It would have been great fun to go over there (England) and from an Australian perspective show the rest of the world the calibre of Australian horses.

"For All Too Hard it was also a chance to help his northern stud career. But what he has done here is good enough."
