Pattaya's near by Islands!

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of checking out Pattaya's near by Islands! on my next visit in April! because of it being Songkrat period! and having heard so many negative things about it! from you guys! If it does go pair shaped! I thought the other half and I can escape to the near by Islands for a day at a time! and catch some rays! and relax!

Now I have been to Ko Larn (coral island) but wouldn't mind trying Ko Sak and Ko Krok! anyone of you guys been? if so! I would be greatfull for info regarding this! and also Nakula Beach! North Pattaya!

Cheers in advance!!!

I have also heard that Koh Chang is beautiful...  http://www.koh-chang.com/  If you make it down to Koh Chang you will probably want to make it an overnight trip...  I have seen some great photos of the place and will make a stop there my next trip.

The other one that is highly recommend is Koh Sichang, which is a little closer then Koh Chang and can be done as a day trip..  http://www.kohsichang.com/ or some other info here http://www.ko-sichang.com/beach.html.

Good luck and enjoy whichever island you go for!!

Cheers

I've been to Pattaya many, many times. What I do is go to the Five Star Bar on the beach side about a block from the Saim Bayview Hotel and the Mike Mall.  The proprietor there is called "Mama-san" (don't ask) and can give you help with most things you're looking for: shopping for a certain item, tours, transportation to the airport, etc. She can arrange you a trip to one of the little islands about 3 miles off Pattaya beach where they have a very primitive setup of "restaurants" and a very few kiosks for the usual trinkets. No radio, no tv, no computers - nothing but sun and Singha and your companion to take your ease on the clean beaches.  If you really must, you can swim and snorkel in the clean water, but why bother. What a trip to ditch civilization for a day and not hear the radio and tv babbling or worring about checking the damned email.

Koh Chang is definitely the place to go to but its a 3 hour drive followed by a short ferry ride.Really youve got to go for a minimum of two nights.Beaches are lovely, beautiful scenery and crystal clear sea....but take a Thai babe with you as theres not much nightlife other than a resort called White Sands.

I stayed a couple of years ago on Klong Prau ?? beach just up from Whitesands....hotel Klong Prau Resort was lovely but the nearest watering hole was 10 minutes walk up the beach.....you can hire bikes and cycle round although it is a bit hilly.

Deffo worth a visit,though.
